Doncic is looking good

We just don't have the timing right on when to tank properly it seems

Doncic is insane.

We haven't had the right timing that's for sure.

We were not bad at tanking, we were horrific at tanking. If we would have been good at tanking we would have had Porzingis and we would have had the 4th pick this year (which turned into the 5th pick). We should follow Philly's lead on how to tank and do it for one more year. One more piece to the puzzle in 2018, along with some good additions this summer, could put us in a strong position.

I am on board with "exciting pieces". AG and Isaac are two of those exciting pieces. Could become the the most formidable duo (in terms of matchup problems) at SF and PF in the East and can guard up to all 5 positions. Isaac, just 3 years removed form playing PG in high school, can handle the ball, good shooter who will get better (good FT shooting proves that), can guard 5 positions, rebound, block shots--perfect fit for today's NBA. IF AG improves shooting, which I think he will, he has most of the other talents to fit today's NBA. Magic need to play Hezonja and Payton to determine their future and hopefully it will be good. Same with Biz. For all the comments on disappointing performances, mine starts with Biz first. For $17 million we need a whole lot more out of Biz. I do not think we saw any numbers resembling anything close to what he did at Toronto (I recollect some double digit scoring and rebounding games in Toronto when he did start) in any game for us. Never saw anything like Games 3 and 4 in the East finals against Cleveland. We could use that player and that would be an exciting piece.

Unless everyone dramatically improves I cannot see us beating out Miami, Charlotte, Milwaukee, or Philly (if healthy), maybe even Detroit for the remaining playoff spots after Cavs, Celts, Wizards, and Toronto (solid playoff teams). I would rather trade off assets and have a top 5 pick next year and follow the Philly model. Especially since it appears Irving is headed elsewhere. We can get back faster that way.

Eventhough I agree with most of what you have stated, one thing that I disagree completely is the Philadelphia Statement.

A lot of people here think that Philadelphia has been doing great with their desicion to tand and should be a franchise to follow in how to build for the future.

Well... I am not one of them.

The Sixers are and has been a dissapointment for years! They have make the playoff only 4 times since 2005 and all but one has been first round exist.

Lets look are their draft history to further prove my point.

Over the past 10 years this has been their first round picks:

2006: Thabous Sefolosha

2007: Thadeus Young

Daequan Cook

2008: Maureese Speights

2009: Jruey Holiday

2010: Evan Turner

2011: LavoyAllen

Nic Vucevic

2012: Maurice Harkless

Justin Hamilton

2013: MCW

Glenn Rice

Pierre Jackson

They Also Traded Holiday for Noel this year.

2014: Joel Embid

KJ Mcdaniels

Payton( traded for Saric)

Jeremy Grant

2015: Okafor

Willie Hernangomez

Richaun Holmes

JP Tokoto

Artura Gudaitis

Luka Mitrovic

2016: Ben Simmons

Timothy Luwawu

Korkmaz

2017: Fultz

So looking at their picks it seems as they dont keep their selections for long. We all know that they are trying to trade Okafor hard without much success. In retrospect after all of thetanking they have done and all of the first round selections in the past 10 years, they only have Embidd, Okafor, Simmons and Fultz.

Embid is a mistery at the moment and likely will not be playing for long due to injuries. Okafor is also expected to hit the market soon and I am not sure if Phily will offer him any decent money. I will not be surprise if they do with him what they did with Noel.

Simmons and Fultz are both rookies and eventhough they look promising, I am not sure if they are going to be stars in this league. They will need to develop.

My point is that they dont keep their selections for long even their draft selections has been really good over the years. It seems as this is a team who will be forever relying on their picks and not in the free agency.

I rather be the Magic, to be honest. At least we are trying to get decent talent throughout the free agency market and I do think we are more talented that the Sixers at the moment.

And neither are nowhere near as good as Irving. He's shown he can take over games scoring wise.

Cool.

What's your point in this argument? The reason you initially commented on my post in this string of posts?

That you disagree that kyrie is closer to the lillard, Conley, wall group?

Why'd you go back to 2006? The Sixers started tanking in 2013. We're trying to be the Sixers from 06-12 now. Kinda hurts your point

To show how bad this franchise has been for years my point is that we are now the 2006-2012 Sixers. Decent young players that needs to be develop.

Imagined if the kept Jrue Holiday, Thadeus Young, Speights and Turner a little longer and add some other decent Free agents and yound draftees.

Again, 2006-2012 reminds me of how we are at the moment. 2012-2016 sixers has been horrible and Im not sure 2017 and above will be any better.

We haven't tank yet and look how bad we has been for the past 5 years. We cant afford to start the tanking now because we want to emulate a franchise movement that has not been proven to be effective.

The Sixers have good bets on fultz, Simmons, and embiid now. gotta figure one hits.
