Then you're blind. Vuch may be our leading scorer, but he's inefficient. This is why we've been losing with Vuc as our primary scorer for the past 4-5 years. His scoring does not translate into wins. He does not make anyone better. He doesn't open up the lanes. He takes long 2's. And, his defense leaves much to be desired.

Fournier is his buddy-bro in real life and doesn't want to see him traded, so he tries to make him look useful. And it results in losses.

Your first paragraph is entirely accurate. Thats why most of us want to move on for him. Thats why stats show we were better on both sides of the court with Biyombo/AG/Ross/EF/EP. Thats why it is criminal we never played Ibaka at C and Gordon at 4.

Your second paragraph is stupid message board conjecture. They got cast as Shaq and Kobe by a GM way over his head and a coach who is a decade behind where the NBA is now. Vuc and Fournier were here post ASB when the starting lineup showed a pulse on offense but still couldnt defend and the bench looked like a college team.

Fournier.

No no no, the debate is who else is Fournier supposed to pass too in our starting lineup from last year.

My argument is that Fournier passes to Vuch more often than anyone else cause Vuch was the second best offensive player last year.

well if we go by eFG%

Ibaka, biyombo, ross, meeks, Gordon and payton.

if we go by True Shooting %

Ibaka, meeks, biyombo, ross, Gordon, augustin, payton, Watson, green

I was more talking about the starters.

Kick it to Vuch for a mid range jumper or Payton or AG at the 3 point line?

Really just horrible options all around really. We sucked last year. Starting lineup will be the same probably.

I still say simmons starts. But hopefully his shot improves.

The problem with Vucevic is his best attribute is the least efficient shot in the nba.

53% of his offense came from shots outside of 10 feet. he shot basically 42% on twos and 31% on threes.

but a 42% two point shot gets your team as many points per possession as a 28% three point shot.

statistically we'd be about the same.

now in practice, that's not really fair. because sometimes there's value in just getting points out of a possession and having Gordon shoot threes is going to give you wild swings in efficiency where Vucevic hits around 42% consistently.

The problem is we rely on it way too much. need to make that an option vs a focus like we have in the past.

The ole' "long 2's are the worst shot in the game" theory.

Which they are.

and that's why vucevic needs to start hitting threes.

Speights was in the same boat. Good for a few minutes when you just need a bucket. bad to rely on because he had a career 48% efg% but he started hitting threes and that jumped him up to 54%. That's the difference between the 115th most efficient player and the 326th most efficient player (which was vuceivc).

also, this is a new thing. most of NBA history had an average efg% below 49%. But 13/14, 15/16, and 16/17 have been the three highest average efg% years in league history. 14/15 was 10th.

Not conjecture at all. Pay attention to their twitters. They are best buds. We need to break this relationship up for the good of the team.

Pre ASB

Vuc 13.9

EF 16.8/3.4 assists

EP 12.5/5.7 assists

AG 11.2

Ibaka 15.1

Post ASB

Vuc 16.5

EF 18.0/2 1 assists

EP 13.5/8.4 assists

AG 16.4

Ross 12.5

Good thing AG and EP became friends with them at the break and were allowed by Vuc and Fournier to do more. Its definitely because of their friendship and not balancing out the roster/lineup.
