GAME THREAD: ORLANDO @ DENVER

Recommended Posts

It's nice to see consistent offense, but he seems to consistently bring one or the other and can't play both offense and defense at the same time. Most of our interior defensive issues are starting on the perimeter because neither guard can stop penetration consistently. I'd kill for Victor Oladipo back.

No thx on Victor. Penetration is mostly caused by screens. The big should show hard to force the guard the other direction this happens on good teams defense. Ours very rarely. It is not all on the point guard.

that's only true in cases where teams run a hard hedge P&R defense.

Vogel's defenses have historically been go over the screen, sag the bigman, force a mid range shot.

EDIT: here's a good description of that http://www.indycornrows.com/2014/5/10/5702356/pacers-dominate-the-wizards-pick-and-roll

Didn't say it anywhere that it was all on the point guard. I'm a huge Elfrid supporter and his consistent offense all of a sudden is inspiring, just noting he can't consistently play well on both ends of the court. Usually, his best offensive games he struggles on defense
