Officially Official Gamethread: Grizzlies @ Magic 12/26/16

Is Fournier one of those guys who if you take the ball out of his hands he disappears though and contributes nothing?

I don't think so because he's still a great "catch and shoot" guy.

Last three seasons he's 217 for 526 on catch and shoot threes. that's 41.3%

so just have him do that. and a little driving to the basket. but not try and make him our iso guy.

He's a catch and shoot guy but he has to learn how 1 move swifter without the ball and 2 ball movement. He also needs to play with defensive intensity more consistently.

One guy who've I've been researching is Norman Powell. He might be an up and comer worth looking into.

Yeah. I can't see why we can't use Evan exactly the way we used Meeks last night. Evan does tend to be a ball hog when the offense is struggling though. The only guy he seems to willingly pass to is Vucevic most of the time

Maybe a three team. Other than Val, Raptors have no C worth much on the bench. They'll need the depth in the playoffs and we could use an uber athletic two who can defend and hit the 3. Norman Powell is an intriguing player that fits that mold.

Other thing is it decreases our big man depth but maybe we can get one back with the third team.

Or who knows, Mario could break out in the second half. He doesn't look interested at all though.

He's upped his assists before the injury but he still lacks court awareness when it comes to his teammates and he moves like a pregnant yak most of the time on defense.

this is a fun experiment.

Fournier has played 839 minutes with Ibaka

650 minutes with payton

592 minutes with Gordon

567 minutes with vucevic

477 mins with biyombo

he's passed the ball 200 times to vucevic

177 times to Ibaka

133 times to payton

107 times to biyombo

78 times to gordon

Lol he's played the 2nd least amount of minutes with Vuch but passed to him the most.

Wonder if that's by design by Vogel to bring AG along slowly or Fournier just being Fournier?

when I saw Biyombo's numbers I thought it might be a function of the offense. but the extra 0.13 passes per minute might represent Fournier finding Vucevic outside of the offense.

so basically, Fournier might find vucevic outside of the offense at a higher rate than he finds Gordon at all.

So he passes to Ibaka .21 times a minute

Payton .2 times a minute

Gordon .13 times a minute

Vucevic .35 times a minute

Biyombo .22 times per minute

So it definitely looks like he is more willing to pass to Vuch, as he passes to Vuch almost twice as often as he passes to Payton, Ibaka, or Biyombo and about 3 times as often as he passes to Gordon.
