There's probably a better chance we win the SE Division, earning us the third seed, than finish with the 4th best record in the East, but either way I like your optimism!

I looked it up and yeah the three division winners are guaranteed a top 4 seed but the top 4 seeds will be organized by regular season record in order to prevent a scenario where the best team in a conference and the second best team in a conference meet in the second round.

Gordon is utilized a lot more in offensive sets.

 

We trade Vooch at the deadline.

We draft or sign a PG next summer.

This seems fair. I'll take 40 games, but I'll say Payton thrives under Vogel and the draft thing will depend on who we get if we trade Vuc.

I think we have a rough start and everybody starts to panic. Our projected starting 5 doesn't work and big changes are made.

 

We settle for a starting five with only one of Gordon and Vucevic. Maybe Payton gets replaced as well

 

We find our groove and finish 7th in the East

Are u saying trades or line up changes?

Maybe both. I am not completely sure which lineup Vogel will like the most

 

I think Gordon is better at power forward and that will become evident this year

 

Maybe Gordon becomes our Ginobili. We start Biyombo and Ibaka but play Ibaka and Gordon in crunch time

 

Edit: We might also start Gordon at the 3 and play him at the 4 in crunch time

This is a tough one because there are so many changes to the team and it's hard to know how everything fits together. The challenge could certainly be offense, because with Payton and Gordon in together you have two guys who are reluctant to shoot who the other team can sag off, making it much harder for everyone else.

 

Bottom line: We win somewhere between 20 and 60 games this season. We either make the playoffs or we don't.

I don't know if there's a version of this team that wins 60 games. Maybe 55 games but not 60.

37-45, no playoffs. Might sound negative but my hopes aren't exactly through the roof either. We'll see.
