He just needs to stop trying so hard to avoid contact, drive into defenders like Wade does. Also use different speeds instead of going full bore every time. It's subtle, but makes a big difference.

 

It may help him to bulk up a bit.

I agree with the Mario comment. He is hesitant, but remember he hasn't found his feet yet.

 

Having the confidence to make a mistake as a rookie is important, and perhaps with Skiles at the helm he has been scared to do so.

He's not good against guards that are bigger and stronger than him. Reminds me a bit of Dwight vs Yao. Losing the athleticism and size battle is not something he's used to and it takes him out of his comfort zone
