2016 NBA Draft Thread

Looks like it's just me and you Mauro.

I like the deal, just hate losing Oladipo. But we were going to have to make that decision between him, Mario and Fournier soon enough and Ibaka has proven that he can be a great paint defender. He certainly has the coach to bring him back to an All-NBA Defense level if he works at it.

If you give up a good 3rd year player and a lottery pick you should be getting an All star back.

Exactly..and especially not someone with 1 year left..we may have trusted trade dipo and our pick for 1 year of serge..huge.setback

Count me in. We just acquired and ELITE defender in his absolute prime.

Phase 1 COMPLETE!

Phase 2 PENDING...

I will miss Vic. Always hoping he was gonna break out. Maybe he does.

Still work to do Henny my man

I think people immediately jumping to the conclusion that this is a bad move don't understand we have: a new coach, a new system more than likely, loads of cap space, and now have someone who can defend in the middle. Sure, it stings we lose Oladipo out of this, but Ibaka is a player who can defend in the interior and take the load off of Vuc's shoulders there...moving Vuc now is easier as you have Ibaka to shore it up. Yes, we need an offensive threat, but we don't know how well Mario will play next year. I'm optimistic in that regard...I get the feeling that with a new coach and a system favorable to big's that Vogel likes to run, I think Serge will shine.

He is no longer elite and also likely not in his prime

Wow Both OKC and Orlando shot themselves on the foot. Durant is a goner in OKC and Orlando is going back to the Draft for the 5 consecutive year. Thanks Otis!

Does anyone think Vogel might be behind this trade? Perhaps he's a big fan?

Maybe a little, but I can see why Ibaka would join and how he would fit Vogel's system. Vogel is more defensive minded so that could be the reason for the trade and we could be looking at more players with stronger defense.

TBH, Dipo wasn't that much of a good defensive player. He is more like Wade.

Count me in. I love the move. But I want to see him at Center, not PF.

This rebuild has been about versatility. He will play both depending on need.

ok guys, im thinking rationally again. maybe Rob looked at it as next year he wasn't sure about giving Vic a max deal. but, he was ok with giving an established player like Ibaka max money. just a thought.
