Thought about it, decided not to.

 

Mostly because I think Thompson isn't even good enough for the joke.

 

I just can't figure out what Thompson thinks he's worth, and how he could have possible arrived at that conclusion.

Exactly. Then there would be an Argument about how he would be a starter over Vuc by some crazy member.

 

 

I understand that he's in Dedmon's role. Plus we're going to have Tobias and Gordon at his position.

Skiles brought attention to a particularly unflattering stat from Orlando’s 2014-15 season: the team was dead-last in the league in free throws attempted. (With the NBA’s 25th-best accuracy from the charity stripe, Orlando was also bringing up the back when it came to total number of made free throws, too.) Instead of just offering something ambiguous and unhelpful like, “We have to get to the line more,” Skiles offered two concrete ways he’d like to see the team boost its free throw rates:

 

• Turn defense into offense. Skiles pointed out that, since the Magic were getting scored on so often last year, they started most of their own possessions by taking the ball out-of-bounds against a set-up defense. If Orlando generates more low-percentage looks, steals and blocks this season — all of them certainly priorities for Skiles — the coach anticipates that that’ll lead to more transition opportunities for the Magic. And in transition, opposing defenses often have to decide between fouling or allowing a high-percentage shot.
• Move Vucevic around more within the offense. Skiles pointed out that Vucevic didn’t attempt many free throws last year: it turns out that the center only averaged 3.1 free throws per 36 minutes. Skiles proposed that Vucevic made it to the line so few times because he often simply attempted a post-up, a high-percentage shot that also doesn’t result in many free throws. (You can see the same effect in the game of the Hornets’ Al Jefferson, who’s averaged 3.9 free throws per 36 minutes for his career.) The coach indicated that Vucevic will be put into motion within the offense more often, a strategy that should take advantage of the center’s respectable shooting range.

If the Magic effectively make these adjustments, expect them to shoot a lot more free throws this season.

To be honest, Hennigan needs to sign a player that just get techs because the officials just didn't call fouls. Our guys are really too classy to complain.

 

If you look at most of the Magic top highlights, half of them were non called fouls. Having watched most of last season, my anger of our guys not getting calls they clearly deserved dwindled because of our record and how the playoffs were hopeless. That was the point where I knew our team was exasperated. However, I didn't factor in that it actually discourages a player to drive it to the basket or play hard nosed defense if they are constantly having to deal with the league's assured bull**** of inconsistent and purposely biased officiating.

I remember that game when Tracy McGrady kicked the ball into the stands twice. I, like masochist I am, watched that entire 1-19 start to that season. That guy was exasperated from not getting calls and it boiled over. It wasn't just about that game. It was about the entire season prior to that game of not receiving calls he clearly deserved. You can infer that McGrady was tired from having to carry his teammates too.

Even when Dwight was here, the guy would get clawed out in the face or slapped in the head or a ball thrown at him or elbowed in consecutive times in front of the referees. Played through it but deserved those calls nonetheless.

Its gotten to the point where I've seen even Youtube comments people who aren't our fans saying...the Magic don't get calls and in variations. This was on our top plays of the season highlight reel on NBA's youtube channel. This is off the point, they're also getting better highlight channels banned like Xime Pierto and Dawkins because their nba's highlights are awful and predictable. If they have enough money to not care if their players are overpaid, they should have enough money to hire these guys for their highlights.

To be honest, I don't respect this new lingo of "fans came to see so an so player so he should have so and so advantages of staying in the game"; they pay these superstar players too much in order for to not ***** up. Yeah, spoil them some more.

I could give a diarrhea **** if any fans came to see one player play. The NBA couldn't give 20 fellatios what the ***** my opinion is. I just want to see the league respect its own players all around the table and respect its own game. They're out they're glorifying flops and fining teams who don't want to conform to their business model.

 

The Magic need the encouragement of receiving whistles on their end to know that they are doing something right and settle into the advantages they know they'll have.

Channing Frye is available for very little in return, sources from around the league tell Grantland’s Zach Lowe, who nonetheless cautions that Magic officials say that’s not the case as he writes amid a piece on Tristan Thompson‘s situation. A knee injury Frye suffered a year ago plagued him in his first season in Orlando after he signed a four-year, $32MM deal with the team in the summer of 2014. He’ll make more than $8.175MM this season on the front-loaded contract.

 

Frye, 32, saw averages in points, rebounds and minutes per game last year that were his lowest since the 2008/09 season. Still, he started 51 games and shot 39.3% from three-point range. That marksmanship was the second-best percentage of his career and testament to his value as a floor-stretching 6’11” big man, especially for a team that has trouble with spacing as much as the Magic do. However, his path to more playing time is muddied in Orlando, where Tobias Harris, fresh off signing his new four-year, $64MM contract, Nikola Vucevic, whose four-year, $48MM-plus extension kicks in this season, and 2014 No. 4 overall pick Aaron Gordon crowd the front line.

 

The Magic appear anxious to win, having fired coach Jacque Vaughn midway through last season, one in which Orlando failed to make a leap forward in the franchise’s rebuilding project, and hired Scott Skiles, who has a history of sparking fast turnarounds when he arrives on a team’s bench. The Magic could open more than $10MM in cap space if they trade Frye for no salary in return, but aside from Thompson, who’s demanding much more than the amount of cap room Orlando could open in a Frye salary dump, the existing free agent market is largely devoid of intriguing options. The Magic could use cap room to position themselves to take on a player via trade, such as Markieff Morris, who makes a salary similar to Frye’s, but it’s unclear if they have any such inclina

I'm cool with the idea of trading Frye. I'm thinking I'd rather get a future pick than a player for him. Very little room in the rotation as is.

Markief Morris is an idiot, but he would make the Magic a playoff team IMO. I just don't think the Magic can shoot Frye and Nicholson over and get him. Would probably take losing Fournier, and he was our most efficient SG last year.

As I said a couple of weeks ago, I'd help some other team land Markieff if it meant getting rid of Frye and Nicholson. The trade machine should keep me entertained for a while

I'd want him here. Dude is a double double machine, is young and could mature a little by being around our high character guys.

 

I also like his physical play a lot.

 

That being said, I'm fine with the roster as is, but adding an experienced PF who has some decent range and physicality would be nice.

 

It sucks he is such a complete idiot, but a lot of NBA players are for a while before they grow up.
