CTMagicUK Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 @ "There’s not just one factor why we have struggled,’’ Borrego said. ``When you look at the numbers and watch the film, it’s not one factor. The area that we can control now is that defensive end. The efficiency has to be better in the immediate future.’’ -http://www.nba.com/magic/news/borrego-ready-challenge Predicted Starting Lineups. Lakers Jordan Clarkson Wayne Ellington Ryan Kelly Tarik Black Robert Sacre (Yes that might just be the worst starting 5 in the NBA) Magic Elfrid Payton Victor Oladipo Tobias Harris Channing Frye Nikola Vucevic It'd be a total let down if the team came out with the same lack of effort. We need to go win this one! Discuss. Quote
nCoolness Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 He has 30 more games to prove himself to keep his job. If the Magic manage to pull over 35 wins before the end of the season and depending on how bad other teams are, then quite possible they could make the 8th spot. Realistically, it's unlikely. Stan's Pistons will be the main competition. Quote
The Neighborhood Bully Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 As the fourth-worst team in the league, the Lakers would have an 82.8% chance of landing a top-five pick in May's draft lottery. If the Lakers beat the Magic, improving to 14 wins, they would risk falling to fifth -- with just a 55.2% chance of staying in the top five. Falling to the Magic, the Lakers would stand at 13 wins while Orlando would improve to 16. With Kobe Bryant out for the season with a shoulder injury, the Lakers may not get beyond 19 wins, but the Magic have shown a serious knack for losing, dropping 10 straight. The Lakers can't afford to spot Orlando another loss on Friday; instead they need to focus on catching the Philadelphia 76ers (11-39), New York Knicks (10-39) and Minnesota Timberwolves (9-40) below for even better odds at keeping that top-five pick. Looks like a must lose game for the Lakers. http://www.latimes.c...0205-story.html Quote

Stu Bronsilino Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 I was thinking about how i didn't like how it was dragged out to axe vaughn once it was initially leaked It seemed like we should have done it on superbowl sunday. But looking at the schedule of a 2 game road trip against OKC and spurs, does the front office, just put the plan on hold to let JV rack up 2 more likely losses, and let JB takeover at home against the lakers for better chance of a win and knee jerk acceptance on all the pressure of first game wtih new coach? Can you imagine starting JB with reduced support staff on the road vs OKC and spurs and how the sentinel would have eaten that with a giant spoon? Quote

We fired him at this time for particularly that reason. We now have two winnable games to make management look like geniuses if we go 2-0 after a coaching change. Quote

barnettej Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 I'm actually excited to see how the team performs now. Don't ask why, just one of those "feelings" type thing. Quote
