I wonder if Borrego is staying on as an assistant under a new coach? Otherwise whats the incentive for him to take this job? It's really a lose-lose situation. He's got no help and has to just take over the team in the middle of the season so the chances are he won't somehow perform a miracle turn around and even if he does get some wins we'll probably hire someone else anyway.

 

 

Maybe gets some cred for being a HC somewhere else.

I hope not. Seems more like a PR move than a sound coaching decision given the lack of candidates at the moment. Not really what I would expect from Henny. If you go with an interim coach you wait til the summer, otherwise why not just hire Skiles now?

Imo, Henny isn't pulling this string. This is all higher than Henny. If this was all Henny, nothing would've been leaked.

@JohnDenton555 Jacque Vaughn, who turns 40 on Wednesday, was a class act all way to the end. He pushed the Magic hard in San Antonio & they responded.

On one hand, Skiles might get us to the 8th seed this year. We'd definitely make the playoffs next year.

 

On the other hand, we're almost assuredly going to be shopping for a coach again in 2018
