Soul Bro 1,419 Report post Posted February 20, 2014 While Arron Afflalo’s style of play and reasonable contract have made him one of the more desirable trade targets, it appears that the Magic are inclined to hold onto the 28-year-old beyond tomorrow’s deadline, tweets Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Wojnarowski is also hearing that Orlando could revisit trading Afflalo as the NBA Draft approaches in June. The Magic were reportedly looking for multiple first rounders or young players in exchange for Afflalo, who they may also view as a piece for their future. As Chuck Myron detailed earlier this month in our Trade Candidate series, Afflalo has finally begun to live up to the five-year, $38MM deal the Nuggets gave him in 2011. In his sixth year, the well-rounded shooting guard is averaging 19.4 points, 3.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game while maintaining a healthy PER of 17.29…. http://www.hoopsrumors.com

Tough Break There 96 Report post Posted February 20, 2014 Word on the street is that Jameer Nelson can be had for a 2nd round pick. I don't like this at all Don't buy it. Why trade him for nothing when he could be our backup PG next year for 2 Mil?

Ibn Battuta 127 Report post Posted February 20, 2014 Don't buy it. Why trade him for nothing when he could be our backup PG next year for 2 Mil? uhm what? If we waive him he only counts 2m. But if we don't it's back to 8m.
Soul Bro 1,419 Report post Posted February 20, 2014 Here's the thing about Jameer. He just said in an article that he wants to finish his career with the Magic and maybe join the front office… but that he's got 10 more years of basketball in him. Unless he's willing to take a backup role and play for virtually nothing, I can't imagine Henny re-signing him this summer… knowing we aren't paying him 8 million next year. We aren't the Spurs, where keeping our old school core together has us vying for championships every year.
