UEBERMORTAL 125 Report post Posted August 10, 2012 So, we should trade Dwight for guys that we don't want and just want to turn around and trade later? I don't think I'm the one being ignorant here... You are absolutely right! It's way more intelligent to trade Dwight for Afflalo!!! Maybe Afflalo's value will skyrocketing... <_<
Miller4Prez66 545 Report post Posted August 10, 2012 Tell me what is better with this deal? Afflalo? Nah! Harrington? Nah! Harkless? Nah! Draft pick? Nah! Losing Howard to the might Lakers? Hell yeah!!! <_< Explain to me how your absurd Dallas offer is better? Beabouis has shown nothing but the ability to be a sporadic scorer, and has yet to make any major strides. Jones has averaged 7 mpg in his career to the point. Wright has been the league for 4 seasons while flashing little to no ability. We got Arron Afflalo, a great shooter/defender at the 2 guard position. Moe Harkless, a rookie with a ton of athleticism and upside a 21 year old big man with some upside and we get more picks than we would in a straight up deal with Dallas. I'm sorry, but the fact that I'm even debating this deal and your proposed Dallas trade is just mind boggling stupid.
The Ryan Anderbads 27 Report post Posted August 10, 2012 FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, THE GOAL WASN'T TO GET BETTER. THERE WAS NO DEAL WE WOULD'VE MADE TO GET BETTER. God, I can see where Jareth comes from now. Some people just don't get it. When the nuggets traded melo they actually got some decent players in return and also multiple draft picks, and didn't fall off the map completely. They competed with the lakers till game 7 this past season in the playoffs and have some nice young talent. You would think we could get a similar kind of deal with a BETTER player then melo.....if we just had a bit more patience. There are teams out there that have plenty of talent. So, I disagree with this....you shouldn't fall completely off the map like we have with this trade when you are trading a top 5 player, you really shouldn't. The Magic don't want to be like the Nuggets. They are a team stuck in neutral. Rob was hired to rebuild the team through the draft, not trade for a bunch of players to keep us decent. If you want to tank, why not get the worst player you can get with one year remaining on their contract? But if you want Dwight going to LA why not trade directly for Bynum? Is Zeller better than Bynum? Is Afflalo better than Richardson? This all will turn into a big mess for the next 5+ years! I still cannot accept the fact that we will trade Howard for Afflalo!! Rob was hired to rebuild the team through the draft, not trade for a bunch of players to keep us decent. So why trading for long-term contracts i. e. Afflalo and keeping Hedo, Q and Baby? Why resign Meer? If you want to shred the max. contracts do it right!
Miller4Prez66 545 Report post Posted August 10, 2012 Also, for the record, during the last 20 games of the season Afflalo averaged 18.2 ppg while shooting 52.4% from the field and 45.5% from three. I end my night with that, guy can ball.

Da Woods 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2012 I think some of you are being unrealistic. If there really was a better offer, or even a better offer down the line, Im almost sure that Hennigan would have taken it or waited for it. I mean, Im reading some of these comments on how he should have traded for 1-year deals, and this and that. I mean, c'mon. You not gonna get everything you'd idealy want in a trade. Plus, everyone seems to forget that we got rid of Richardsons terrible contract. Those three picks we got in return I admit are a bit of a head scratcher. You would think the team trading the best player would receive un-protected selections, but lets be real here....those pick won't be worth anything anyways. I think...I THINK, that Hennigan felt and the organization just wanted to unload Howard to the best deal prior to the season. I doutb deals were going to get better than this. And tell the truth, this trade really isn't that bad. Lets just focus on the future with a clean slate. I can't tell you just how thrilled that this saga is over and that d-bag isn't repping my city anymore......And Im really excited to have Moe Harkless! Shabazz is next!
