The Dwight Howard Drama Unfolds

Recommended Posts

Harden, Jackson, Perkins, and Jones III for Dwight and JRich makes too much sense for both teams.

Not sure if numbers work though.

I'll take Harden and Ibaka in a heartbeat.

I tried it in the trade machine and it won't let me add Perry Jones because it says a draft pick can't be traded for 30 days after he signs(Aug 6th). It doesn't work though, the Magic need more salary coming in.

I'am just curious, if Morey after hearing that our so called meeting with Dwight did not end well if he haves some kind of low ball offer ready to try and take advantage of our rookie Gm.

"Dont bite Rob "ITS A Trap"

Even though Im most certain that Rob seeks councel from R.A Buford and OKC Gm for guidance in all this.

With all this crybaby-superstar-whining BS going on, especially with Dwight, it is more than evident that the NBA needs to adopt a new competition format since there is practically 0 competitive balance currently.

The NBA needs to just go ahead and mirror the league after the Barclays Premier League and its 1st and 2nd divisions. The Premier League will have the top 10 teams, the First Division will have teams 11-20 while the Second Division will have the remaining ten teams.

Have the relegation/promotion thing going.

For instance in 2012-13, the Premier League and divisions will look like this (based soloely off 2011-12 reg season records):

Premier League:

San Antonio Spurs

Chicago Bulls

Oklahoma City Thunder

Miami Heat

Indiana Pacers

Los Angeles Lakers

Memphis Grizzlies

Los Angeles Clippers

Atlanta Hawks

Boston Celtics

1st Division

Denver

Orlando

New York

Dallas

Utah

Philadelphia

Houston

Phoenix

Milwaukee

Portland

2nd Division

Minnesota

Detroit

Toronto

Golden State

New Jersey

Sacramento

Cleveland

New Orleans

Washington

Charlotte

Each division's top 2 teams get promoted to the First Division or PL (depending on current division). The PL and 1st division's last 2 teams will be relegated to the league below theirs. Obviously, the 2nd division is exempt unless we create a 3rd division of NBDL teams.

what if we have been feeding him with cardboard meat for 7 years?

seriously... we should dislike Otis more than D12...

trading away Ariza for LA

trading away C Lee

giving Lewis 120mil

trading for carter

trading for arenas

signing a washed up JRich

signing QRich

Signing Duhon

drafting F Vazquez

I mean WTF? those are cardboard meat

if you are an NBA player and a free agent soon to be... you're telling me that you want some of this?

Bolded were in the same deal, and it was not a BAD DEAL at all.

Bringing Ryan and Carter (when everyone thought his playmaking ability could take us to the next level) for Lee, Alston and Battie was one of the best Otis' moves, along with brining Ariza (while unloading Francis), drafting Dwight, drafting Lee, bringing Alston in 2009 and matching Gortat.

For me the worst moves were:

- Ariza for Cook and Evans

- Trading for Turk and JRich, giving them Gortat, Carter, Pietrus and a 1st

- Drafting Vazquez

But the worse move were those 2 guys he brought before 2010/11, DUHON and Qrich

Lewis was a good signing, but overpaid as hell. Also, no one saw his decline coming so fast, after the 10 game suspension.

Arenas trade was a wash, I mean Arenas was better than what Lew could have possibly been, and any of those contracts was going to be amnestied anyway.

You essetially would ensure that the bottom two divisions would be bankrupt in 10 years with this model.

Shoot, it's the direction the league's headed in anyways.

At least this way, smaller market teams will MAYBE feel some sort of accomplishment by attaining promotion status.

Think about Charlotte as an example. Why the hell would any SANE fan show up for or even support that miserable franchise?

Hell, the league's best players are bolting for the big cities anyways.
