Pootie Tang Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Well i wouldn't necessarily say 'boss' but SVG is his coach. That being said the NBA is a business and owners are going to do what they can to continue to generate money. Losing Dwight = losing money. As good as a coach as Stan is (and d12 clowns me every time i say that) Dwight > Stan in the organizations eyes. I definitely respect what Stan has done, but it just seems like players and other people near them feel like he's overstayed his welcome I can respect that and understand you're likely to end up right. Dwight's definitely not earning any new fans this way though. This is less an Orlando Magic problem and more a structure of the NBA problem. Players hold way too much power. Quote
Manu Ginobili Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 here we go again This summarizes EVERYTHING Quote
Shock Phantom Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I'm ok with Stan leaving as long as Otis goes with him. 1 Quote
Bauncey Chillups Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Better brace ourselves for the Nate McMillan era Quote
~O~ Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I'd like everyone to take into consideration that this is a rumor and not "FACTS". There has been no proof and this doesn't change anything. Who the ***** is "SOURCES"? PIngalore???? Get the ***** out of here. 1 Quote

And i agree players hold too much power, but star players = fans = $$$$$. Nowadays seems like thats all the NBA''s worried about anyway lol 1 Quote
NickAnderson Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Im shocked that most people would rather have SVG over Dwight,we lose Dwight,we become irrelevant as a team. Thank you. Sorry but if you look at it in a owners prospective, Dwight is going to keep selling tickets not SVG. Quote
Aussie Magic fan Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 If Stan does get fired, then who do we replace him with? I don't want McMillan here...Give me Phil Jackson and that's it... The real issue here is Otis needs to go...He's built this team and made us suck. Duhon Bloody Arenas Re-signing JRich instead of Crawford Big Baby (although he's been ok lately) Drafting Orton trading Gortat for nothing Otis just has no GM skills and needs to go 1 Quote
For the love of the game Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 They should go after Billy D again, lets repeat that circus! Quote
Crazyhorse81 Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 Thank you. Sorry but if you look at it in a owners prospective, Dwight is going to keep selling tickets not SVG. Unless, with a crappy coach, the Magic barely sniff the playoffs, maybe first round exit at best, year after year after year after year after year. Attendance will slowly start declining, fans will get fed up with Dwight for running the franchise's most successful coach out of town, and he'll probably leave anyways once he sees the grass truly isn't greener with a different coach, and leave us without a franchise player OR a great coach. While "franchise" players are hard to come by, it seems great coaches are even rarer. Right now, just about every team has a "franchise" player (heck, Miami has 2, maybe 3), but the list of "franchise" coaches is even slimmer. I'm in the Keep "SVG at all costs" camp. We can draft new talent, we can bring in guys in FA, but to go from SVG (50+ wins every season, a trip to the Finals, two trips to the ECF) to someone like McMillan (who I don't think has ever won a playoff series) is downright awful. We bring in players that will listen to SVG and lead by example on the court, we win games. We win games, the fans will come anyways. Winning sells tickets too. 1 Quote
O Town Terror Posted April 4, 2012 Report Posted April 4, 2012 I think it's time for SVG to go. I like him, but we've slowly declined the past few years. Not all his fault but what franchise doesn't eventually make this kind of decision. I don't know another coach who we could get who could make us an instant contender again, but what do you guys think of Brian Shaw? He could probably bring the Traingle here. I think we need a shot creator for this offense though. Let me know what you guys think. Quote
