Dear Mr. DeVos

Recommended Posts

Christ, people.

You know, when I do things like this (which, as TITY pointed out above, is pretty much every time I post), my intent is not to get into these ridiculous conversations where I have to keep throwing out more ridiculous crap with every post while fake arguing with someone who completely missed the intent of the original post. That's what always ends up happening, but each time I still have a small but sincere hope that it won't. I am disappointed every time.

Usually, and especially with this thread, I think I'm going far enough over the top that no one could possibly believe that anyone could actually have these opinions, and as a result of that people will understand that I'm not trying to trick anyone into arguing with me, but that I am simply mocking some of the more mind-boggling inconsistencies of thought presented to this forum. And just stuff that makes me laugh. I'm the reverse side of the DOM coin. He calls people idiots directly and explains why. I call people idiots indirectly (mostly because I'm a coward) by exaggerating their own arguments. That's all it is.

The letter to DeVos was very clearly a parody of the other letters that sprang up here in the last few days. But even if you just skimmed over it and missed the parts where I said I was personally responsible for 10% of the team's total profit ever, or where I said I live vicariously through athletes and encourage my children to do the same, or where I actually threatened to throw another sanctimonious tantrum if my demands were not met (for *****'s sake), the third post in this thread actually spells everything out for you. You don't even have to figure it out yourself. Just read two more posts.

I wish that just once someone will read one of my posts, understand what I'm actually saying, and respond with a legitimate defense of the positions I'm so obviously exaggerating while telling me what a dishonest douche I am by making ridiculous strawmen and attacking those instead of their actual positions. But it hasn't happened. Not once. Instead, I always end up getting into a fake argument about socialism or whether or not Europe is a country or other such nonsense.

If it makes you feel any better, I received negative rep for explaining your intentions....

If it makes it any better, it made my day just reading it. I love when people contest absurdity by being absurd. These days, it's really the only way to get people to look at their own stupidity... Unless they're too stupid to catch the joke... Then they're probably hopeless anyway.

Then you better be ready to be trolled back.

There have been a lot of great threads on this site, but this one may just take the cake. From the brilliant original post, to the outrage it produced, to the fact the TRBT had to actually EXPLAIN himself, this has it all.

Bravo to everyone involved. I thoroughly enjoyed the last 4 minutes of my life.

"I've been watching basketball games from my couch and from your cozy arenas new and old (which I also payed for with my tax dollars, ingrate) for well over 20 years."

I had to register just to enlighten you on the fact that the new Amway Center wasn't built with taxpayer's money, at all! As a matter of fact, there is something known as a Tourist Tax that is a 6% tax on hotel rooms, essentially. The 6th percent was put towards the $1 Billion project that included the Amway Center build, a new performing arts center and eventually renovating the Citrus Bowl. That being said, the tourism in Orlando paid for the new arena to promote tourism in downtown Orlando. Your taxpaying dollars are "safe" in the hands of the politicians...

I don't buy it because if that's actually what you were doing there would be something in your responses designed to make me look stupid for making the fake arguments in the first place or at least some kind of joke or something. Playing along I'd believe. "Trolling back", no.

If you're aware you're arguing against a character, it makes no sense to make straight arguments to it.
