Berto 338 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 I'd argue that it's going to be really hard to compare children's cartoons and adult cartoons, and that most of the adult cartoons function as animated sitcoms. I'd say if anything, we should make the distinction that we use cartoons as "children's cartoons", and use things like The Simpsons and King of the Hill as sitcoms. I agree. I don't think The Simpsons, or shows like it, should be in the same categorization as something like Rocko's Modern Life; one's a cartoon and the other is an animated sitcom.
