If you really listen to Dwight, you hear it in his voice that he really wants to stay with the Magic.. That is the same thing Wade said about Miami last year. Wade tested Free Agency and everyone thought he was going to go to Chicago to be closer to his family and thats where he grew up. Well little did people know Wade was talking with Bosh and Lebron about all going to Miami for less money. It worked for him and Miami. In my opinion I really think Dwight is going to stay. He has said the key sentences He wants to Start his own path. He wants people to follow him. My Preference is to stay in Orlando. If he turns his back on the city....it will be worse then Lebron did to Cleveland..Never did I hear Lebron say he wanted to stay in Cleveland. I think Dwight opts out like he said.. Starts talking to Free agents like CP3, and Deron Williams about going to Orlando to play together. It all depends on the CBA what is considered a max contract. We will no longer have 20 million dollars contracts. They want to reduce the max salary by 33 percent. That is 14 million a year. If you think about it Dwight would be doing the Magic a favor by opting out and taking less money if it means bringing along CP3 or Deron for 14 mill a year. If Dwight didnt care about the Magics financial issues he would've taken the 18 mil during his ETO year. Dont you think Dwight knows by opting out hes going to lose around 40 million dollars. He doesnt care about the money. He wants a championship. Orlando is an attractive place to play. New Arena.. No tax..playing along side Dwight Howard. I think the only competition is New Jersey, simply because they are moving to Brooklyn and they already have Deron Williams who might try to recruit him... but besides Deron...who do they have.
