Jareth Cutestory 678 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 I could see that category being the hardest to judge. When movies like Animal House and The 40 Year Old Virgin go undrafted, you know some good comedies are in there. That, or a few people dropped the ball in that category. That said, show Airplane! some love! I was on the fence about 40 Year Old Virgin. It's probably one of my favorite movies ever, let alone comedy. But I didn't think it would jive well with the judges.

Ned Ryerson 94 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 You're using Mr. Shackleford as your exhibit for unjust? Historical: Dances With Wolves Pure Action: The Hunt For Red October? Really? Pure Action? And I haven't even gotten to Guess Who's Coming To Dinner or Blue Chips yet. Alright now, what's wrong with Dances With Wolves? To steal from Wikipedia: It is credited as a leading influence for the revitalization of the Western genre of filmmaking in Hollywood. In 2007, Dances with Wolves was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." AND YOU RATED IT LOW. You're killing me Smalls!

Trey Time 186 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 The Social Network as historical. You're kidding me. It happened in the past, it's historical. I didn't want to pick another war movie.

Emory889 353 Report post Posted March 23, 2011 AND... The Social Network > Dances With Wolves I completely disagree but I did enjoy Social Network a great deal and it should count as a historical movie if it had been picked.

Manu Ginobili 61 Report post Posted March 23, 2011 Dance with the wolves is as lousy an oscar winner as Chicago. Did anybody mention "In the name of the father", "The Usual Suspects" or the first "Lotr"?
