His job is to win the fight, not entertain you. This is a real fight; it's not staged like pro wrestling or soccer. As for SIlva fighting people, I seem to remember that not being the case in the Cote fight, the Maia fight and Leites fight. In all of those fights, Silva danced like a jackass, and avoided engaging completely. And it makes sense: he didn't have to engage to retain his title, so why bother. So the difference between what GSP did in, for instance, the Koscheck fight and what Silva did in those fights, is that GSP kept hitting Koscheck throughout all five rounds. Anyway, I love grappling but effective grappling, if you watch something outside the UFC you will see what I'm talking about. Strikeforce fighter Roger Gracie is the best grappler in the world and he's amazing to watch, Tyron Woodley comes from a wrestling background but still tries to finish fights, like GSP did 6 years ago. Didn't you see GSP hitting Shields with a bombing high kick and not going for the finish afraid of getting submitted by a dazed opponent? I mean, c'mon.. That's about not being a *****ing moron. ******END TRANSMISSION******* It's the same for your win-lose record, but finishing is rewarded in the UFC and you need it to emphasize your legacy. Dana White said about Silva's last performance: If you're the best, don't dance around, go out there and finish your opponent as fast as you can. He said that about Silva but I know he thinks that about GSP too. GSP was booed in Toronto, charisma and pleasing the fans is part of your image as a fighter. It will make you greater, that's why Ali was so good and loved by everyone. And with his skills he had to finish Shields there, no matter how good you are at BJJ you wouldn't survive a high kick like that followed by ground and pound. GSP is just too scared. He could also rip Dan Hardy's arm apart, but he didn't. And it's not set in stone that Diaz will win the fight, but I can't wait to see how GSP will react to such a fearless enemy. Cactus 83 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 Shields has some of the worst standup in the game, and being that GSP has been training with Freddie Roach, I expected way more out of that fight. Shields striking technique is embarrassing, as is his striking power. That said, GSP would dominate Diaz in my opinion, strikeforce champs are in strikeforce for a reason.
