Silent Pete 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2007 OK, I didn't want Billy D, but got stoked when he signed. I wanted Adelman but no such luck. Then I was happy thinking SVG would be our consolation prize. But rather then keep reading down the list of leading candidates, I beleive we should start doing our homework and finding a diamon din the rough candidate. Florida looked pretty happy about Grant from VCU (I think his name was Grant) maybe we should give a jump over billy. Maybe we try other college coaches or go the Darrel Armstrong route. I will be happy with any coach so long as he hires good assistants, lets the offense run more, and gets along well with the players. This team, especially with a top free agent needs a manager more than a coach. Someone to manage playing time and let our teams talent win games, instead of an offense drawn up on a clipboard. I know game prep and sets, and are important, but not as much with our situation, as with a young team like portland, or a team with less depth or talent.
