You got a brain tumor? Thrash metal riffing can only be tolerated so much before it starts to get completely redundant and tiring. I get enough of it from Testament already. quote: Originally posted by Jackie Treehorn:Is it time for a metal-off? you don't want any of this

BillFan 1 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Ha ha ha ..you guys are funny. I saw Iron Maiden with Judas Priest in 1981. I've been to hundreds of concerts in my life and have been a metalhead forever. Hell, I've been on metal MB's since the mid 90's. So.. lets sum this up. BillFan, metalhead since before you guys were born. If they had degrees in metal, BillFan would have a masters. BillFans head is stuffed with metal and is a walking metal encyclopedia. You guys... grew up on cookie monster vocals and no lead guitars. *cries* BMP calls the Metal Gods music terrible. That in itself just cost you your metal card buddy. Why don't you google Metal God.. *shakes head* As for having a metal off, I won't do it. Old school metalheads don't even acknowledge cookie monster bands.. sorry. I will discuss metal though as its my passion. So bring it.. Heres some great metal with an actual "singer" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...hoxc&feature=related
BMP 424 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 I knew it, no point in discussing metal with anyone over 30. And please, you call yourself a "metalhead" yet you've only accustomed yourself to bands like Judas Priest (Halford blows), Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and etc, while not staying relevant to metal today (and just because these bands may put out albums these years, they're still basically the same)? Just become a band started playing metal first (or during the era metal started to become famous and widely accepted), doesn't mean they're metal "gods". It's like comparing a car in the 1930s to a car today. And to say you won't acknowledge "cookie monster" bands just goes out to show you can't appreciate what most death/tech metal bands have done up to this day. ranging from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv-4StX6JOA to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlVzgAsVI4I and so on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1pjpj6FBsg oh, and I actually grew up on Testament, Metallica, Maiden, and to some extent Megadeth/Ozzy/Danzig to say the bands I mentioned don't have lead guitars is just... ugh
TheREALBrooksThompson 157 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Yes! The metal-off has begun! BillFan has set the bar pretty high here. Will ButterMilkPancakes cower at sight of all this badassedness? Or will he be able to unleash an even bigger, heavier phallus of steel? I can't wait. EDIT: BMP just took the lead!
