He is basically averaging the same stats as last year with the same minutes, so I don't really see a drop off so much. But I do think the team works better right now with Bass playing back up 5 minutes. Like I said, Marcin will get his chance real soon to be the starter and I hope he will be happy doing that. He doesn't have to keep his employeer happy. If Gortat keeps playing like crap and plays no minutes, he would still get paid every penny this year. Although I don't think Gortat is all that (IMO he's overrated) He could contribute in a team like Houston, Knicks, Miami (Next year) Thunder etc. I doubt we are going to trade him this year, but I'd hope for a trade in the offseason. COLOMBIANO, what you said makes no sense. If Gortat is serious about wanting to go somewhere where he can have a bigger role, he needs to come close to earning that fat contract of his. He's not doing that right now. Regardless of what he says about being "fatigued", it's pretty obvious that he's moping. Yes, either way, he's still going to get paid. But, halfassing it during the few minutes he's getting is only going to make it harder for the Magic to trade him. And I hope that none of you really think that this guy is out there giving it his all right now. Regardless of the reasons that he gives, he practically admitted that he's not. If he keeps this up, Bass is going to continue to eat into his minutes. Bass seems to be starting to understand what he needs to do defensively to get Stan to play him. Gortat needs to watch it, or he's going to mope himself right out of what he says that he wants. Quote

I hope we trade his *** for someone who actually puts in the effort for the 5-8 minutes a game. Last season my opinion of Gortat was very positive, but this year I honestly think Gortat doesn't even deserve a spot with the Magic. Tell him to go somewhere else and get his 30 minutes a game on a sub .500 team.... then ask him if he's happy now. Quote

Not sure why the Magic matched an offer when he clearly didn't want to be a back-up. They're not going to get a first rounder for him, we all know that. But I don't think you can complain about being "burned out" and complain about lack of playing time at the same time. "I'm tired" and "I should be playing more" should not be uttered in the same paragraph. Quote
