Gortat no happy

He said he'll likely meet with coach Stan Van Gundy after the season to discuss his future and direct his agent, Guy Zucker, to talk with general manager Otis Smith.

 

"I really don't think about this now. But at some point, I want to have the chance to sit down with coach Van Gundy and tell him how I feel and where I want to go with my career," Gortat said. "I'm 100 percent sure coach will understand and will do the right thing for me and the team.

 

"My agent will talk to Otis. But it's too early to say anything."

 

Gortat has not been happy with his recent playing time. After getting considerable minutes early (averaging 18.6 in his first 14 games)

oh cry me a river gortat...it's so tough being a multi millionaire and playing a game for a living...boo hoo. I didn't hear Bass complaining when he had multiple games where he DNP. Step up your game and do what you are paid to do...and who knows, maybe you would get more minutes at the 4 spot or 5 if you played better when you were IN the game! end rant.

I really don't think he said anything wrong...or different than what we already knew when Otis initially matched his contract offer. He wants more minutes. I don't blame him for not being happy about getting 7 minutes a game.

Agreed. You want players that want to be out there. The only issue I would have is if he let his feelings show in his play, which I don't believe has happened yet.

Are we sure its emotions that is affecting his play and not the two straight years of basketball without a break? I personally think the man is worn out.

i just don't like how he thinks he deserves to be playing starters minutes with any squad with his lackluster effort on the court and butter fingers...i dunno...

I don't disagree with this statement. I guess my response would be "dance with the date that brought ya"

 

If i'm getting paid a great paycheck from a team, then that team gets my best and my allegiance. To me, though it's a great honor to play for your country, if you can't handle both at once, a serious choice should be made. To me, the choice is to keep your employer happy.

 

He is basically averaging the same stats as last year with the same minutes, so I don't really see a drop off so much. But I do think the team works better right now with Bass playing back up 5 minutes.

 

Like I said, Marcin will get his chance real soon to be the starter and I hope he will be happy doing that.

Gonna have to go with the idea of do your job as you are asked for now. He wasn't all that negative in his answers, and I don't blame him to want minutes and to have a chance to be a starter it is obvious that is not going to happen here in Orlando...
