What Non-Point Guard should play the point?

With Nelson out that means at sometime in games the Magic may not really have a pure PG run the offense. Sure AJ maybe in the game but he may not run the offense. Last year it was an easy answer it was Turk who the offense was ran through. Who would you have play some point guard that isn't a point?

He played PG for the Nets last year when DHarris was injured for 4 games or so. I believe VC averaged 8 dimes, and the Nets won all the games (yes, the Nets that are 0-10 right now)

I think Redick can. He has looked good with his ball movement. and Its not like we need him to create for others, just be a good ball handler and passer.

I expect to see Vince and Barnes fill some backcourt minutes, both can handle the ball.

 

Barnes can defend opposing PG's and Vince can run the offense.

If Carter can run the offense the way Hedo did then we can go with this lineup:

 

Redick,Carter,Pietrus,Lewis,Howard

 

You would still have 4 shooters surrounding Howard and Carter would run the offense. Redick will guard the opposing team's PG. This would work out for us.

Its at least worth a try, but I think we look good with redick on the court, because he does not stop running of screens and stuff.. also likes to move the ball.

I agree we need to find a way to give Redick some good minutes. He's really improving his all around game enough to play more minutes. I mean he's actually out playing Carter for as defense and setting up his teammates.
