Todays line up has fluxed in the recent years, but who has the best show today? Quote

no_ma'am Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 i always thought the monsters were terribly overrated around here...i listened to them in the car during mornings after howard went to sirius, but a lot of their discussions and bits just weren't that good. I used to love drew garabo. I can remember during the year of the hurricanes he was doing a show that had me rolling while i was waiting for the power to come back on. Philips Phile is meh and i don't really listen to any of the others. so yeah, i didn't vote because i'm not completely informed. Quote
TheREALBrooksThompson Posted August 4, 2009 Report Posted August 4, 2009 Drunky is the only thing about the Monsters that is entertaining. I too was a fan of Garabo about 10 years ago. The "Make 'em Say Uh" bit was consistently hilarious. But he kind of fell off toward the end of his tenure. And he's kind of a d-bag. I liked the Burke show a lot, may it rest in peace. Burke, also kind of a d-bag. Never really cared for Philips. Haven't heard more than a few minutes of the BS, and haven't heard SBK Live in more than a year. So I too am abstaining from voting because a lack of a quality choice. Phil Hendrie isn't really Real Radio, but that show was (and to a slightly lesser extent still is) pure genius. Quote
davcivic Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 I have found myself hating radio, top 40 music is crap, rock stations in town are crap. And out of the morning shows the Monsters are the only ones that are somewhat entertaining. All the others just play too much music or worry too much about celebrity news and crap. I listen to Real Radio at work because I haven't found anything better to listen to. All the shows have bits that are ok, and/or funny, Except for the Pillips Phile. They are just annoying. Buckethead is ok, SBK live is fun, but its on too late now. My favorite was the Shannon Burk show, the mix of the biker guy, the black rapper and cabin boy was fun. But it is no more. I don't think I have a favorite now. Most of them talk about the same news over and over during the day. So it gets old and boring Quote
Jareth Cutestory Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 I started really listening to 104.1 about 6 months ago. I was a fan of the Shannon Burke show simply because of SBK. SBK's show is now on too late for my taste since I usually only listen to the radio at lunch. The BS is OK. Generic frat boy humor, but it's entertaining sometimes. Philips File is entertaining, but the dude is out of his mind most times. The Monsters are dreadful. Absolutely awful. I especially love though during the Magic playoff run how every show became a sports talk show basically. Ridiculous. Radio is awful in general. I wish I could stream Internet radio to my car. Quote
