He's a decent defender but probably overrated on this board. Anytime he's been assigned a good scorer they have torched him. I know that good offense beats good defense but I can't think of one player that he's held to a subpar game. I like his heart and hustle but he is expendable. I want to see JJ play more and Dooling and Grant are eating up all the minutes. I don't think Grant will come back next year and Dooling will probably opt out so why won't they play the rookie?

Emory, I'm not a huge Dooling fan but thought you should know in our 3rd game of the season we beat the Wizards. Arenas scored 24 points but 11 of them came from the foul line.

He shot 6-20 from the field which for him is obviously an off night. Mostly due to Keyon Dooling who guarded him and logged about 27 minutes that night.

OK, that's a subpar game for Arenas. I still think he's an overrated defender. He plays hard and I respect him for that but above average scorers take it to him pretty easily.

Man, the 3rd game of the season seems like years ago. Its been a loooooong season. lol

Okay.. someone please explain to me what the combination of Grant Hill and Keyon Dooling do that JJ Redick and Keith Bogans CANNOT do?

Other than Pat Garrity's existence and the lack of a 4th consistent big man, this is my next biggest problem with this team.

You could say, Grant Hill can slash to the basket. So can Reddick, even though he's given no credit for it. Dooling can play defense, you might say. Well, so can Bogans. He prides himself on it. You might say Grant Hill can hit the 14-18 foot jumper. Not only can Reddick do that, but he does it within the flow of the offense. Neither Hill nor JJ seems to be able to play outstanding defense, so that's a push.

Basically JJ/Bogans can do everything Hill/Dooling can do, and also both JJ/Bogans can hit the 3 point shot on top of it! Also JJ is tons younger than Grant.

The silver lining is Grant's contract is about to be up and Dooling's probably going to opt out of his contract. Unless we get a huge upgrade at shooting guard (aka VC or Ray Allen) I'll be much happy when Keith and J.J. are getting the lion's share of the SG minutes. The team will be better off for it in so many ways.
