Hank Moody Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 I think Stern wanted us to beat Boston as long as it went 7 games, that way the Cavs wont sweep there 3rd round opponent (us) bringing in more revenue with more games, TV, etc. Quote
TrueMagicFan07 Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 The Magic is also being talked about on non-sports related shows, such as talk shows and variety tv programs. Saturday night, on Saturday Night Live, they did a comedy sketch about game 6 between the Magic and Boston. I believe it was Ray Allen that they joked about. Yesterday morning on the Regis and Kelly show, they talked about the game. Regis said that he was very surprised that the Celtics lost to the Magic. He said the Magic came out of nowhere and beat Boston. (That's funny because if he had been paying attention, we finished 3rd in the EC last season.) Quote
Iliveformagic Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 Yea, you're right. I saw Regis and Kelly that morning. Guess they'll be talking about us again when we beat the Cav's. Quote
3 years left Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 The more are ratings go up, the more we get the calls from the refs. It's the NBA way. Now I definitely know the Magic are going to the finals. Quote

All I'm saying!!! im not shock but alot of people wanna see Howard play. This post made me realize something, while I have David Stern conspiracy theories running through my head. So it's just a somewhat educated theory, let me say that off the top. Other than LeBron James and maybe Kobe, there was no one more popular in China than Dwight Howard, between the Olympics, and when the Magic played the Cavs in preseason a couple of years back. Since the All Star voting was international, the Chinese are probably the reason why it turned from Dwight leading the centers in voting into leading EVERYONE in voting. So maybe Stern IS rooting for the Magic, or at least willing to stay out of their way. Or I should say to be more specific... Out of Dwight Howard's way? Quote
