fishybashi Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 I think it is possible. We outscore them by running a fast run and gun offense. We play them in our own game, not theirs, so as to shake their feathers a bit. What do you guys think? Is it really possible? I think it is! BTW, the last several games have been overall running smoothly and even well coached. I am glad that Arroyo is back! Hope it stays that way. He has a lot to show the Pistons. Some of that "angst" can go a long way to defeating "the enemy!" Go Magic! Quote

The Dude Abides Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 I hear ya Fishy - I think the keys are definatley not to get sucked into their game. Their half court D will RIP us apart if we settle. I agree, need to go hard, fast and strong, play our best D on their Half cout O. Protect the ball!!! Get into our Rythm early, got to show up, cant let them jump on us , or were in their game. On/Off the ball movement, swing it side to side and keep MOVING.. (see the last rotation vs. the heat) "Visualize" us makin an EFFIN FT's, or whatever it takes, Just make it! Play smart. this includes EVERYTHING including rotations, timely changes, using players minutes well. On the Piston site, they arent being half as bad as you tyhink they would be, and even asked 10 ways the Magic COULD beat them.. maybe we can compile a board list..(they seem civil, oddly civil, in a weird weird way) Quote
Emory889 Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 We have to run against the Pistons because we have no chance of beating them in a halfcourt game. Quote
JOSE R. FERNANDEZ Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 It's easy to defeat the pistons. All we have to do is pray to Jesus, alah, zaratrusta, apolo, zeus, mahoma, budah, anaton, yuquiyu or pedro rosello or ask them to play for us. Quote

The Ghost of John Gabriel Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Chauncey Billups going down or being taken out would nuetralize the playing field significantly... Seriously, what's needed to beat Detroit isn't physical, but it is??? Quote
Fern1960 Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 This is the way I would draw it up. It's all going to come down to the forth quater. I would put Keith Boagans on Billups the whole entire 4th quarter. I wolud put Dooling on Hamilton (Keon is fast and can move around screens) this of course in the 4th quarter also. Hill/Ariza on Prince. Batie on Wallace and Howard on Webber. The pistons are not going to match or beat the magic with their front line players. It's their back court that is going to be a problem. So I would use Nelson, Arroyo, Redick, Bogens, and Dooling as much as possible. Pound the ball inside to Howard, Milic, and Batie get their "bigs" in foul trouble. That's my take on it..... Quote
DetRipCity Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Its so nice seeing all you Magic fans so excited and optimistic about your chances. Lets be real though, your team beating the Pistons in a 7 game series is comparable to one of you trailer kids winning the lotto. Quote
