No surprise coming from his former coach

Denton: Now Retired, Hill Didn't Deserve Criticism While With Magic
magicblue replied to Franchise408's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
His numbers aren't horrible, but they just didn't have any real impact after his injury. Grant Hill was pretty good at getting his (when healthy) but, whether due to injury or not, his game and statistics always seemed a bit hollow -
Not to mention Popovich is an immensely better coach than Vogel and the Spurs are basically the team the Pacers wish they could be
-
I hear you, although defensive rebounding (which generally is the Pacers strength) is what cost them this game IMO, and at the very least the momentum in the game. I guess I'm of the opinion that if you're going to hate on a team (Miami) you mine as well just root for the next opponent. I'm not a Pacers fan after tonight at which time I became a Spurs fan, but only in the short term

What's funny? I don't recall caring about Grant Hill since about his fourth wasted season with us. Aside from a co-ROY, a few All-Star games, and handcuffing an entire franchise for 6 years he accomplished next to nothing. 18 years...good job using the NBA Grant Hill, congrats -
Certainly, if in turn, you agree to allow other members to answer for themselves

A Duncan/McGrady duo could have been amazing, although we still would have had to deal with Grant Hill's $93M ankle and it's salary cap implications -
Why? You're a Magic fan right? Who cares what the Pacers do?

If Rose becomes chronically injured like Grant Hill he won't exactly be tradeable. Amnestied maybe -

I disagree. Booooooooooooo -
McLemore and/or Dipo definitely won't be there at 9 or 13. We'd presumably be picking from Burke (if he slips), McCollum, or Schroeder. The benefit would be dumping a salary and adding D. Williams (if you consider that a benefit). Obviously there are other trades out there (Houston & Thomas Robinson/Mavs wanting out of the 13 slot) but I was just wondering what everyone thought? As for the second part of your post, no way Chris Paul comes to Orlando...we wouldn't even attempt to sway him at the stage of the rebuild we're in. We're a couple years away from being players in FA.
-
T-Wolves would like to move up from #9 to draft McLemore/Oladipo. Would you all consider D. Williams/#9 pick for the #2 and dump a contract? Burke/McCollum/Schroeder could all be in play at #9 because so few teams have need at PG. Hmmmm
-
If it comes down to the interviews between B-Mac and Oladipo then I'd put my money on Dipo because he is quite intelligent and articulate, especially compared to McLemore...who comes off much less refined, to put it nicely.

Good work! I think other than maybe being a bit too liberal with the 10's handed out, this is a nice way to attempt to rank the players. The only 10's IMO should probably be on the defensive side for pre-injury Noel. I question a 10 for Otto's 3Pt shooting in particular and believe Oladipo's ratings give the false impression of a separation from the rest of the group that does not really exist on the court. Maybe the defensive categories are being weighted a bit too heavily or there's simply too many of them?
-
I think Burke is being overlooked in this conversation, but maybe its just me. I see his offensive floor as Jameer, but with better vision and passing. He will probably never be considered an elite PG, but that doesn't mean he won't have a great career. There's a lot of intangibles with Burke that can't really be measured and I think most everyone is sleeping on him because of what can be.
-
That's probably the case, but IMO we're better off dealing in reality than in hypotheticals in terms of having a relevant discussion. I agree in the theory of BPA, but only when a player is clearly better than the rest of the class. Perfect example is Wiggins. If we draft first overall next year we take him, and deal with the backlog at SF later. Obviously in this draft its pretty tough to even determine who the BPA is at #2 with any certainty, so strategically it makes sense to consider both team needs and potential. Having said that, here are two things to consider with regards to Otto. Is he clearly any better than McLemore, Burke, Oladipo and even if you believe he is (I'd say possibly but not clearly) could it not be argued that we already have two equitable (maybe even better) talents with similar upside at the same position? In considering these questions, I personally do not believe Otto is the right pick for us even if you view him as marginally better than the field using BPA theory. This is why I personally believe we end up taking McLemore at #2 or trading down for Burke. If Noel doesn't go first then who the hell knows what we'll do.

Indiana is the only other team that comes to mind, but yeah...its not exactly a power league at the moment.

Thomas Robinson getting dumped by Houston. Any interest?

I just watched that entire 21 minute video, Morey seems like a cool guy -

They get the cap space to sign Dwight...that's something -

That's awesome...thanks! -
Funny thing is both those deals would be made to help said teams make a run at Dwight. Would be a coup to pull off both!
-
For the first pick? Honestly I don't know if Henny would do it for a shot at Noel or Porter especially considering the possibilities out there with Houston and Dallas. You'd have to be fairly convinced that Porter is better than Harris, which I personally don't believe he is

Yeah walking away from the draft with say McLemore, Schroeder, and Robinson would be pretty amazing! If someone smarter than me could let me know if it's possible to make both the Dallas and Houston deals with our trade exception that would be great. Thanks in advance! -
I'd say there's neither a will or a way

Who would you suggest we take at #2 that fits that mold other than Noel, who will probably go first overall?
