My question is, was SVG applauding Houston's rebuilding plan prior to them trading for Harden and signing Dwight this off-season? I doubt it, because they were going nowhere fast. Let's be honest, they got lucky that OKC gifted them Harden. If every team took the exact same approach Houston did, 29 would have be disappointed, wound up with nothing, and continued down the path of mediocrity that Houston was previously on. I have no problem with the path we're on, acquiring young players with upside, building through the draft, and hoping to one-day sign some premium FA talent. I mean what are we supposed to do, blow our cap room on B talent, or trade away our young guys whose collective ceilings have yet to be determined, just to fight for one and done playoff appearances indefinitely? Houston didn't do that. They traded for Harden, arguably a top 10 talent, and used their cap flexibility to sign the best center in the game. Their execution was fantastic, but "the plan" was far from guaranteed. For SVG to say he agrees with the way Houston went about things is quite possibly the finest example of hindsight being 20/20 I've ever seen

Do people understand the difference between tanking and just not being good? One is purposeful, the other is a result of a flawed, incomplete, or an otherwise inept roster. We aren't going to lose on purpose, we're going to lose because we're not that good. There's nothing wrong with losing while developing young players and maintaining roster flexibility, there is however something wrong with intentionally losing. We're in the former category, not the latter

That article was so lacking in any meaningful information, like what Vuc has been focusing on, noticeable improvements in his strength/athleticism and pretty much in any information other than he's playing in a tournament and is looking forward to maybe playing Gasol, who he respects. Good grief, how about a little information and effort? This is no fault of the poster, this article just happens to be terrible journalism...if you want to call it that.

Trade it for a player with a bad contract and a 2014 draft pick?
-
Did not see that coming...wasn't even strapped in

Did you happen to actually see any of the games that he played big minutes at PG this past season? I did and it was an absolutely painful thing to watch. Moore needs to be standing in the corner waiting for an open shot, not handling the ball and/or trying to initiate offense.

If Moore plays PG this year things have gone incredibly wrong.

I don't see that happening regardless of how experimental things might get.

Both Vucevic and Harkless improved considerably, just check their season splits for evidence. The team on the court at the end of the season was completely different than the beginning of the season and missing key veteran players...that's kind of the point -

Then they would be morons for not understanding their poor product was the cause of both. Let's agree to disagree on all of this and move on -

I think the chances are much better that the team simply accepts that they need to keep improving in order to bring the fans back rather than blame the city and try to pout their way out of town. Its just a ridiculous notion going into year two of a complete 3-5 year rebuild in a brand new arena. -

Because I have eyes. Again, our offense likely struggled because we were playing without our starting PG and our defense likely struggled because we lost our best team defender in BBD and AA for a few weeks also. -

Why would the City of Orlando agree to a buyout? So we can lose our only professional sports franchise and become the laughing stock of American cities? Are you really concerned the Magic would want to leave Orlando because they themselves suck? I have a hard time believing that you even believe what your saying -

Our record does not reflect regression, it reflects injuries to several (see how I did that) key veteran players, lack of depth, and youth. To ignore that, or minimize it in order to defend your point, is kind of silly. All the young guys improved as the year went on, aside from maybe E'Twaun Moore who should never, ever, play PG. -

You didn't answer the question. Who regressed? You can't use our record as an indicator of regression when two of our youngest players (Harkless and Vucevic) clearly improved as the year went on and Davis, Nelson, and Afflalo all missed a significant amount of games, particularly in the 2nd half. It's like saying Derrick Rose didn't show the same level of athleticism last season. -

The only potential starters who played were Oladipo and Harkless. That's not several, its two -

With all due respect, age doesn't really have anything to do with bulking up and if anything it's actually easier to put on muscle mass once you get a little older and your metabolism slows down a little. If you train right, eat right, and supplement right you will increase muscle mass. I think Nicholson looks a little bigger in the arms and across his chest, but his base is still scrawny and the bigger issue is that weight training isn't going to resolve his lack of athleticism or improve his lateral movement. The guy is a sloth...it's not hating, it's just reality. -

Here's the order of importance for participants/observers with respect to summer league: 1. Unsigned FA's and 2nd rd picks 2. Fans (especially of crappy teams) 3. Rookies drafted in 1st rd 4. Players under contract -

Not really. I just think Nicholson is what he is. He's not that athletic, which isn't going to change, and he's not exactly young (as in 20-21). Also both Harkless and Lamb have clearly improved their strength and agressiveness so I'm not sure why you feel everyone has regressed? -
Maybe for that brief moment, but I was also at that game and nothing compares to Game 7 of the 1995 Eastern Conference Finals. It was absolutely deafening.
