Orlando's Best Fit at the Top of the 2014 Draft?
mick replied to Jagsfreak27's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Hey guys i thought wiggins was the consensus no 1 and people were saying that he is the next lebron but recently i have been reading many reports suggesting he is anything but. I dont remember when lebron was drafted as no 1 but was their many that believed he would not be that great ( I dont think so considering he got a 20m per year nike contract before playing a game ). I just want to know whether to put any thought into these nay sayers or their concerns r legitimate. If we got the number 1 pick i was thinking wiggins but now i think we should draft parker. I would have loved exum but we already have olapido for that. If we dont get no1 and parker is gone we should draft embid. Our organisation has done very well with centers as we develop them well. Embid reminds me of dwight when we drafted him and look how that turned out. -
Damm jinxed him. First average game in a while against golden state

I think u r pretty much right on everything except the criticism of trading ryan anderson. That was definately the right move. Dont get me wrong he is playing exceptionally well right now for a 9 mil player but this is regular season my freind. I think u have forgotten how much he choked in the playoffs. Besides that point we r trying to tank and winning more regular season games which anderson would have helped with will effect our draft postition. I want a minimum top 5 pick in this draft.

I understand his doing this on a bad team but its not like he is putting up 40 shots for his points he has been very efficient and i am pretty sure he was in top5 in FG% this year. I remmeber all the talk of monta ellis a couple years back when he was at Golden state his numbers were awesome but he was shooting at like 40% so when u say getting his on a bad team i think u mean this. That shouldnt apply to affalo as he is FG % is close to 50% this year. Afterall they all play the same teams . Also it takes time to build a reputation and aura where u make others better. Affola has just started the process and most of our team r rookies. The influence he has will only come about a couple years later. Dont get me started on Wade man. Old wade was a legend and would rip affola but thats old wade. The current wade is but a shell and does not deserve to be an allstar this year but will cause of his previous acheivements. Its sad.

I certainly think so. I havnt heard his name much in terms of being an allstar and thats completely bull. The way he has played this year is phenomenal and most certainly is a allstar starter or at the very least on the bench. At the moment he is 12th on the scoring list and only 1 shooting guard is above him in the nba and thats james harden. In the east there is only 1 guard with higher points than him and thats kyrie erving. But if we compare those 2 against affalo what u will find is that affalo has been way more efficient than those 2 who only average like 1-2 points more than him. If he doesnt get a allstar spot thats completely bull**** as he is soo deserving of one. I know the allstar ballot is primarily a popularity contest and affola isnt famous like the others but his play this year should have people taking notice and hopefully he will get a spot. I for one will be voting for him.

i watched the USA vs Brazil game today and thought the brazil point guard was a decent player. I wouldnt mind having him as a backup over duhon. He would definately be an upgrade.

He just had surgery to fix them. Amare and Kobe's operations have turned out well. If he was still in bad shape then why are all these good teams going after him. If we look at amare and kobe pre-op and compare to post-op i believe its worth it cause they havnt lost too much if any and are still standing . Lets atleast try
-
Do you guys think that we should go after Roy? From what i have read he had the same surgery kobe did and we all know how that turned out. We should at least try to get him to workout then assess whether he will be worth going after. Will certainly help with the howard situation bringing in talent like that . It's going to be hard though cause alot of teams from what i hear are going for him.

If he was to be resigned by the magic what deal would you guys offer him. iI think a 3 year 5 mil is about what he's worth.
-
I read a poster earlier saying that hedo has only 1 more guarenteed year but when i researched on hoopshype it said that he has 1 year and the next is a player option. Hedo is definately opting in cause he will be getting atleast 3 times more money than anyone else would offer him. I guess thats 2 guarenteed years unless hoopshype is wrong. Can someone please tell me if it is a player or team option.
-
Do you guys think that if we trade for bynum or blake we can then flip either of them for davis?
-
I agree that our pick will probably be better than the two in a few years but doubt Dwight will wait that long. Man we should only be so lucky to get him if we do cause nobody else worth coming will without dwight commiting.
-
I would sacrifice our pick and any player not named dwight for rudy. I know memphis will get the better of that deal but its worth it cause it will improve our team now which is what dwight wants.

He is most definately worth a max deal. Look at what he averages coming off the bench and imagine what it will be as a starter. Sadly though even if we had the money OKC will match. I am 99% sure that they will choose harden over Ibaka. -
Can u please explain what u were against and why. BBD is playing brilliantly of late and u cant tell me that he isnt better than anderson.
