All Eyes On Me

I’m ok with Weltman hitching his job security fully on Mose because I think to get to the next level we need to move on from both. If an interim were to come in and succeed it’d potentially extend Weltman’s lifespan here, and frankly after another deadline where he refused to improve glaring holes, it’s time for him to go just as much if not more than Mosely.

The more I think about it, the more the Cam Thomas stuff really frustrates me. He was such an obvious fit that would’ve filled major need for us and our GM didn’t even try to get him. Get Weltman out of here

There is evidence that we’re a better basketball team with Paolo off the court at this point, and the sample size is getting larger. Of all the ways I thought this season would go, I didn’t see a major deterioration of Paolo’s game coming at all. He’s essentially turned into bigger Demar Derozan. Hopefully he takes this week off seriously and can come back refreshed, if it’s mental or physical, I don’t care, we need our beast back.

On Wendell, I found myself thinking in the 4th quarter last night that if we want to win this game we have to close with Moe. Wendell comes back in, and the game goes all the way downhill and we lose. Need to give Goga or JI some opportunities, Dell has been unplayably bad.

You think Mike Miller trying to get them both out? I can’t imagine he’s a huge fan of any of our front office, he’s seen winning and knows what it looks like, also knows how our organization doesn’t prioritize it. Wouldn’t shock me.

No JI and no Goga when Wendell was the worst player on the floor AGAIN… why are only some players held accountable for poor play? Tonight was proof Franz shouldnt have come back until the all star break. He looked slow and hesitant. Paolo, I’m running out of words but my panic meter is turned all the way up. TDS is just bad. Our ceiling is significantly limited by our bench. Also, hope AB is ok. Only reason I can think of that he didn’t play during the 4th is he got banged up. This team can’t hurt us again for a whole week, so I guess at least there’s that…

Bad loss.. need to do some serious soul searching during the all star break because we should be better than we are. Also, aren’t we so grateful to have a worthless GM like Jeff Weltman who brought in Jevon Carter who doesn’t even play instead of trying to pull in a second unit scorer like Cam Thomas who I’m convinced we could’ve had.

Maybe, but coasting when we’re stacking up Ls is concerning and comes across as pouty when it’s combined with bad body language. It’s not like he’s saving himself up and over performing against good teams in important matchups either. But, I guess I’ll take it over load management rest “injuries” every other week. Hope we go on a nice streak after the break now that we’re finally healthy. Only 4 games back of home court somehow.

I think it’s a few things this season that are impacting him. 1) He doesn’t like the fast pace style of ball. He’s been outspoken against it since the season started. 2) He’s not in great shape. His conditioning is meh so he picks and chooses his spots to exert energy. 3) His aggression is entirely dependent on the officials. If he doesn’t get calls he stops playing hard and begins pouting. He’s still very young and we’ve seen him play his best on the brightest stage, so hoping by playoff time we’re singing a different tune about him. But this has certainly been a season to forget out of him to this point.

No, you’re right. Paolo athletically is a shell of himself right now and I have no idea why. Some of it is he’s overthinking everything, but he has no lift at all. I was looking at early career highlights of him the other day and he’s unrecognizable right now compared to that guy.

We rolled out our death lineup! 2 minutes of Paolo/Franz/Bane/AB/Suggs and I could see the potential for sure. Good W. If we can stay healthy and get into a rhythm we could still salvage this season. Go Magic!

Wouldn’t worry too much about it right now. Paolo is under contract with us until 2030. Is a fun game to play who’d we protect in an expansion draft though. Typically teams can protect 8 players. To me, it’d be Franz, Paolo, Bane, Suggs, Black, Jase, Penda and I guess Wendell if it wee to happen this off-season.

Scratch that injury report being clean, lol… WCJ questionable with a sore ankle

First time that Moe, Franz, Suggs and Paolo playing together in over 400 days. First time we’ll get all 4 of them and Bane. First clean injury report we’ve had since Paolo’s oblique injury last year. Let’s hope we finally get a run of good luck with health.

Thunder and Spurs turned into what they are right now based off this same obvious tanking. We honestly should’ve done it too in 22-23.
