I must say it's nice to not have deeply ingrained anxiety about having a team that is expected to perform horribly. I am a relaxed sports fan coming into this season. I don't even have incredibly absurd expectations, it just doesn't seem like the lay of the land in the NBA right now makes it look like that many teams are "yep chalk this one in as a loss". I hope our team has kicked that previously mentioned habit of playing down to poor competition and that we look as tough as we should be each night out.

The respect they offer to some franchises for absolutely nothing is incredible. Some of the "breakout players" are rubbish picks and really undermine their 'expertise'

It's a funny feeling, being a Magic fan, that while all of this is true, it doesn't make for a strictly black and white argument. It's either been a feast or a famine for the teams Orlando puts out. We've been very good very quickly and for short periods. We've been absolutely horrible for stretches. What we haven't really had is like a few years of mediocrity in this "new NBA" where the perfect storm of OK team a few pieces away combined with cap space and opportunity. This may be what the next 4 years is about for this team. Getting incrementally better, betting on continuity and a bright future - while still being mildly competitive now. If all goes well, 5 years from now the kids will all be amidst their primes and Vuc can be our David Lee lol

TMF i hope this isn't supposed to be an exercise in showing us that he's rubbish. Not only is that cherry picking bad games (noone called him a gamebreaker), but his individual +/- still suggests he was part of positive lineups despite either not shooting or not shooting well. For a forward he keeps his fouls and TO's low and he finds a way to not f' it up for everyone.

I didn't get to watch this game but I am hardly surprised by the outcome. This isn't going to be the same old Raptors, and it isn't a travesty to lose to them. I'd be ecstatic to win two playoff games. I'm incredibly satisfied that we even get a playoff series this year. More fuel to the fire for the future for sure as these guys get older and more capable. Good attempt at a comeback and now they know how hard it is in the playoffs. Considering my personal idea of their record this was for a 32-35 win season, we can't POSSIBLY be mad at these young fellas.

The Nuggets have really just hit on so many guys of that ilk that they've run out of room haven't they lol... they need to cut one of them loose.

It reminds me how everyone praises gunners like Crawford, Lou Williams and back in the day guys who came in and just gunned it like Dale Ellis, Michael Adams, Ricky Pierce etc. ... and to say Ross at his motivated best (i.e. here in Orlando) does nothing else of worth is a bit of a disservice. He plays his role and he's dangerous. Teams need those guys, just as much for the confidence and passion as results. It's not like anyone's asking him to be Klay Thompson...

Sorry, but I'd rather have Gordon than any of them if I had to choose, though Capela is about the closest. If I recall, I'm pretty sure alot of people said both Capela and Gordon are a reach and both of them are clearcut the best positive impact players of the bunch. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind having a Gary Harris at shooting guard but not at the expense of Aaron. I don't dislike any of those guys, really. Just don't think Aaron should be overlooked because of his combination of work ethic, making the right plays on both ends most of the time, youth and athleticism. We have years ahead of him having an athletic advantage over a lot of guys and he's putting it together. Althogether, given the hype... that draft was a little bit disappointing in retrospect. And hey, I defended Hennigan for a long time, but you're right the Ross trade was the best get. A few other things looked like they'd pan out and they just flat out didn't. I think I defended Hennigan for as much as I did because he got a raw deal and then got played by the big boys... and you look at the front office turmoil everywhere and just ... who wants that for the team you're a fan of? The Suns are still on that stupid wheel and they've just hired Bower... who has done diddly squat everywhere he's been too.
