The Gators loss to Butler yesterday hurt, but watching Kansas choke against an inferior team once again was even worse. Had a chance to see both of my teams face off in the Final Four and both showed a lack of mental toughness. I think there is something to be said for Kansas's repeated failures in the NCAA tournament during the Bill Self era. Yes they won a national title under his tenure, but they have also been upset in embarrassing fashion on numerous occassions. Can't recall every tournament under Self, but losing to Bucknell, Bradley, Northern Iowa, and VCU indicates that something is amiss. It certainly doesn't seem to be a personnel issue since Kansas repeatedly has one of the most talented teams in the country, but the collective mental fortitude of a Self-coached team always seems to be lacking.
