Kenny Smith knew it. Did you see the look he gave Wade when he came for the post-contest interview? Wade trying to justify his *****ery but eff Wade. -

This the thread where we are talking about this blatant ass screwjob? F Dwyane Wade. I can't keep watching the dunk contest if they are just gonna continue screwing the dudes who should be winning. They so obviously just want whoever they want to win to win it, and since Miami is a more darling franchise, eff Aaron Gordon I guess. There's no way in hell Jones' last dunk was better than Gordon's last dunk. It's questionable if Jones shoulda even been there in the first place, cuz Connaughton had a better first dunk than Jones. The dunk contest might not even matter but I'm legit ass pissed right now. -

What I mean is that they are both playmakers who need the ball in their hand to facilitate. Neither of them are really off ball threats. And since there's only one ball to go around... -

Let him go. Idc. Take the cap space that will open up. Probably far more valuable than anything we can actually get for him anyways. -

Yea, basically. Bamba played some decent defense. He was the only one that did, and then Clifford pulled him out. Fultz and Isaac are our future. I still like Gordon and Bamba too. Everyone else needs to go. I'm sick of this Fournier & Vuc core of our team. T-Ross seems to have been fool's gold last year. He plays Kobe-ball without an ounce of Kobe's talent. Anyone NOT part of the BIG+Fultz crew needs to go away, and fast. We've made Vuc and Fournier the centerpiece of this team for far longer than they deserve. They should have been post-Dwight transitional players that got us from one roster to the next, but instead have become the roster. But as far as D'Lo goes, he's basically another Fultz. Probably better, but they are basically the same player. We don't need D'Lo here. -

I get why we resigned Vuc, but I think I agree. Once him, Evab, and DJ are gone, we can start truly building around our young core. Just hope by then it won't be too late for guys like Gordon, Isaac, Fultz, and Bamba. -

It's so frustrating being a Magic fan. Kelle is out here working his ass off and nobody around him is doing a damn thing. -

I was kinda disappointed when we took Mo out. He was at least giving us some defense in the paint. -

Why not just let his contract expire and free up that $17 million? We are over the cap, meaning we have to take back similar salary, and trading away that pending $17 million opening up for equal level mediocrity doesn't change our long term outlook, whereas having $17 million available does. -

Who? Toronto didn't get their star player by tanking. Golden State's star players were all over the draft, not by tanking for a top spot. Cleveland's star was a free agent signing. They won nothing during LeBron's first run when he would have been considered a draftee. San Antonio was built through years and years of drafting all through the draft. Only Duncan can be applied to "tanking", and that wasn't so much as a tank as it was their star center got injured. Boston was built through a whole lot of trades and had no longevity. Lakers certainly weren't built through tanking. Miami needed top end free agents in both of their runs. Dallas' star was a #11 pick. Detroit wasn't built by tanking. Pretty sure that covers the last 20 years and not one championship team was via "tanking" -

What moves can we make? We can't make moves because of all the years of tanking. We have crap players on awful contracts like Fournier who are entirely immovable, and those contracts make it impossible to sign anyone else. We have guys like Fultz and Isaac to build around, and a vet in Vooch, but everything else is entirely unmovable and hindering us from getting better. We are stuck in neutral until guys like Augustin and Fournier come off the books and open up some space for us. -

How many times does it need to be explained that tanking doesn't work? That's *NOT* how you build a championship team. -
Golden State is the only place Draymond is worth that.
-
Because if Fultz is healthy, he is a recent #1 pick with superstar potential. DJ is not.
-
We also can't tank the team that we do have trying to force Bamba into the lineup when he isnt ready for it
-
?forthewin and I agree. This is a date that shall go down in infamy.

It probably wasnt as much of a shock to NBA war rooms as it was to analysts. GM's are much more in tune with what's actually going on and how players are perceived than the analysts do. While analysts projected him that high, WeltHam probably recognized that NBA draft boards didnt have him that high and took the gamble that they could snag him in UDFA But like ?forthewin, I moreso agree that trading picks simply for cash is dumb. Because at that point you could draft a player and sign your guy in UDFA and have an asset to trade later. But trading it for a future pick to get your guy in UDFA and have an additional pick for a future pick is just smart business.
