I think baby took shots because we had a bad team. we needed players to do more than they normally would on a more talented team. I don't think baby is a selfish player. He was a key player on a championship team. Baby knows how to win and what it takes to be good.

I think it will be Kansas
-
It matters how well the young players develop. If bmac can become ray allen or smart can become Gary Payton/ Russell Westbrook than it will make us better faster. I think harris will take another step and be a go to scorer.
-
In this scenario, we would keep baby so we dont need to trade harkless. Smart BMac Harris Baby (28yrs old, next year) Vuc Vary good balance of offense and defense.
-
if we did get BMac, I think he would do well in JV's offense. He has those reggie miller type screen plays the will free up BMac
-
If they had a healthy team, they would have depth and would challenge for the ring. The fact remains that they have the plays with the mindset to compete. Thus, the reason they are doing good now.

I think some of the people that are doubting trey burke as a player are going to have to eat there words. Length is what matters and he is really long for his height at 6"5 wingspan (3 inches longer than nelson). With his pg skills, quickness, and shooting ability, it is hard for me to see how he will fail in a guard dominant league. Bmac and Noel has a bigger bust chance than Burke, though they do have bigger upside because of athleticism. Noel has no offense game and is now on his second big time injury Bmac is a one denominational shooter that does not want to shoot the ball and fades in big moments. I dont see the big gap between the 3.

I agree. The bulls are winning because they brought in hard workers that have a winning mind set. That is the type of player we are also looking for now. Victor is the only sg that fits that bill; in this draft. Burke is the play I would go for. I would love to draft noel but 2 knee injuries. OMG

I understand he was a rookie and a young rookie to go with that fact. I was addressing a comment about him being able to guard 2s or not. But to your point, I not even talking about top defenders. I just talking about good defenders. He has some work to do to become good. For example C.Lee came in as very good defender as a rookie. He kept his man in front of him. Got around screens and did not miss a lot of defense rotations. Therefore, he started in the championship game for us. C. Lee did not get a lot of steals or blocks, but he played good position defense. Harkless had some steals and blocks, but he is missing the most important thing; position defense. He needs to kept his man in front of him, on one side of the floor, and know his rotations. After he does these thing, we can talk about him being a good defender and maybe a top defender. He does have the tools to get it done, but let us see it on the floor.

I love noel's off the ball defense. But I went burke because of his pg skill level.

If we pick up a late 1st, Crabbe would be a nice two guard (if we did not get bmac) that can run the JJ type plays that JV has and give us a nice shooter.
-
To me, Harkless still needs to show that he is a good defender. He had flashes of good defense vs sf. He does not get around screens good and has issues with quick guards taking him off the dribble. He is good against slower sf like melo and paul because of his length. I believe he has the tools to be a lock down defender, but it his not there yet. I dont think he does well verse most two guards. So far, he does get in the passing lane well. He blocks shots well from the weak side. I just want to see more one on one defense and heart every play.

Harris can play pf if needed. There is also randle. The major things is that we have a lot of options if parker or wiggins are gone.
-
shooting guards are easier to get than size and pgs.

we were in a lot of games last year. We gave up a lot of points from opposing guards, but some of those loses were because of scoring or the lack there of. I just don't feel that jv will be judged much next year because our competitive window is marked for 2014-2015. We will have a lot of cash, two 2014 picks, and our young players (including out 2013 pick) will have some seasoning to them.

More lies happen at this time than truths. but burk, bmac, and noel are my choices.

just going by what I have been hearing. That is also why rose is still out.

they say he looks as if he could be back around Christmas... http://www.kentucky.com/2013/04/23/2612207/noel-considered-return-to-uk-but.html

I think jv will be judged mostly on player development. I don't think rob minds losing games next year because of the draft placing in 2014. Rob is in a win win situation. Wins or high draft choice. The big key will come in the offseason and trading dead line. If we don't keep the vets (baby, nelson, aa) and we don't sign any big names with the te or fa, we are looking to tank. If we keep our vets, than we will improve.

Burke has a great assist turnover ratio and averaged 7 assists a game. What will allow burke to get in the lane is his pure shooting from range. Players will try to close to hard and go over screen verse burk. Then burke will abuse them as a result. He is not currently as pure a shooter as S. Curry, not many players are in the league, but they have similar styles in there game. Burke, to me, will be the better passer and limit turnovers more in his career. I don't think he will be the scorer that curry is but I think he will make players around him better and give the same and simular impact on the game.
-
with no sure number one, I can easily see why teams would go need. guards with burke's ability to limit turnovers, control pace, make others better, score, and create offense is hard to come by at 20yrs old. Normally you hear of scoring guards or the rare pure pg, but burke fits both bills. With small ball taking over the league, guards are at a high premium. If we could see workout by noel. It would be different but with two knee injuries, it is a hard sell. If we grab a pg, we could go Wiggins, parker, randle, Arron Gordan, young, or smart (for sg) in 2014.

I think burke's floor is a longer & better passing Nelson or Mo Williams His ceiling is terral brandon/mark price/stephen curry

I believe each pick has its question marks. I think the worse thing we could do is get nothing or a player that has high risk at bursting. Burke to me is the most sure thing in this draft. He was the best player in college for a reason. Burke is athletic. I agree, he is not a freak with speed or hops. But he is not andre miller. He has above average quickness and length. Overall, he reminds me of how tim duncan came in with all this skill despite having average athletisem. Burke's skill level is off the charts. He has more skill for a pt guard than smart, k. hill, and harrison. Those players have more upside because they are bigger and/or more athletically gifted, but they may not acheive the skill level of burke. If they do, they will become better players but that is a wait and see. Court vision and leadership can not be taught. you either have it in you or you dont. Burke has it. Next year there are a lot of pgs coming out with upside, but there are better wings also coming out than bmack. There will not be a better defensive player than noel next year. I am just scared he will not stay on the court. Noel fully healthly is the sure fire player to get. But he is light in the cakes and already hurt. I have red flags all over him. It would be funny, if we got both noel and smart (and they panned out). Just a thought....Can you say defense? lol
