very efficient that year as a shooter and player maker.

I have always thought burke had the best pg skills in this draft but his size was the main reason smart was more ideal. It is sad but now that burke is proven to be 6'1 with a 6.5.5 wingspan, it feels safer to go after burke. He will be an impact player.
-
the pacers lance reminds me of smart's game on offense.
-
He has a good chance to be no worst than Terrell Brandon. The odds of him being DJ Augustin is really weak; like 5%, but I wanted to coverage his bust chances. I think he has a 85% change to be Terrell Brandon type I think he has a 10% change to be Paul or Nash type player. This will be based on hard work and the players around him also developing. terrell brandon highlights: Hard to See http://youtu.be/qhJQSk6xJIk

He is actually bigger than paul.
-
I agree he is above average. He is more athletic than nelson and nelson made the all star team. I think burke skill level is off the carts and that is what separates him. You want athletically gift players but at some put skill matters, because that is what the game is about.

conned like eddy murphy in trading places.

James is also taking more hits now that he is at pf; banging with the big boys will limit his future longevity.
-
He is longer and a better passer. He really gets others involved. He would make harris and harkless better. I see him getting them easy shots. Nelson has had T.O. problems. Passing and limiting TOs is one of burkes strengths. Nelson is a better finisher at the basket. The similarity between burke, nash and paul is pick and roll ability.

Ceiling means potential to become that level of a player. I did not say he was there yet. He has work to do. I used both nash and paul comparison because of burke's great ability to use p&r. As mentioned before, no one thought that nash would ever be a 2 time mvp but he became that regardless of his lack of defense. Nash and Paul's ability to pass and score out of pick & roll is their strength to their teams. Burke has Chris Paul's ability to keep players on his hip that come over the top of Pick & Roll plays; this allows him to make a lot of plays for him and other players. This is a rare talent out of college and will allow him to make others better around him. He does not have Paul's defense yet. Burke also has Nash's ability to limit turnovers, Control the pace of the game, make pine point passes on the move, and shoot 3s on people that go under on Pick & Rolls, but He needs to show he can do it in the NBA. I can see Burke being closer to Nash than Paul, because of his questions on defense. I did say his floor was DJ Augustin. Best Case Scenario: Steve Nash / Chris Paul Tweeners: Mark Price / Terrell Brandon Worst Case Scenario: DJ Augustin

According to ESPN's Chad Ford, "more and more GMs are getting on the (Trey) Burke bandwagon as a potential No. 1 pick."
-
tuk can be cut at 6mil because of his contract.
-
He is a great decision maker and excels in P&R - these are great aspects to his game and transition to the NBA. He can make all the passes to run an offense, (except the steve nash off hand pass). company these talents with the fact, he has elite range on his jump shot. Burke will be nasty. The two areas I would like him to improve on is: splitting the defense off p&r and defense. Players he reminds me of: Terrell Brandon, Mark Price, Stephen Curry, Chris Paul, Steve Nash Ceiling: Steve Nash / Chris Paul Floor: DJ Augustin I am not calling him the best college player in the country, but the NCAA did for a reason.

nelson can teach our young guys a lot.

With BMac being 6'4 with a 6'7 ws I think there will be quite a few sgs that will have as big of an impact in next years draft. There is young and both harrisons. plus wiggins and smart can both play sg. I think Bmac will be a great shooter but he will be limited in alot of areas. If he had more of victors or JJs motor, it would ease my thoughts of him working out, but he has a lot of question marks. The only issue I have with burke is defense, because he has above average length for a pg 6.5.5 . Plus, he is taller than reported; at 6"1.
-
(Trey Burke. 5'11.75" in socks. 6'1.25" shoes. 6'5.5" wingspan. Good measurement for him.) I truly feel better picking him #1 . 6.1 is not bad. And, 6.5.5 is above the 6.4 average nba pg wingspan. I think burke has the top skill set in the draft and he is still young.

I second this

players work out for teams and show what they can do.

When your that young and someone offers you 3 million to do something you have been doing all your life, why not take the money? I can not knock someone for trying to better them selves and there family. it is easy for you or any one to say dont take 3 million, but let someone offer it to you. Then, we can see if you would turn it down. 100,000 would be hard to turn down, especially when college give you 0 dollars to play and just makes money off of you. They will feed you, house you and cloth you, but lets keep it real - It not much in comparison to what they make off young kids. God forbid they take some cash they earned. It is actually sad.
-
if we trade vets, we will lose. If we keep, baby, aa, and nelson. We will win. Its as simple as that to me. (fringe playoff team)
-
They both have that tensity, anticipation, and quick hands. The difference will be the era. Payton played in the hand check era.
-
I did mean russell. I think he is a combo between the two. Payton's defense and leadership, but not his passing. He has russell's aggression to the bucket and ability to get to the line but not his explosiveness.

we can always go small with: Nick Harris Harkless BMac Smart
