  1. i think the magic got a 2 guys that might work out especially the one they traded for. i am sure there is more to come. however i wish the measurements woukd be realistic. why list 6'8" guys at 6' 10". call it like it is.
  2. have to agree with that. i was just thinking it would be great to have jr smith and gil at the guards. the magic would be the most watched team in the nba to never win it all. why is everyone so down on the players we have. i do not think you trade for just the sake of change. i think we surely need a pg but to trade nelson without getting a big improvement is useless.
  3. jareth, i am amazed you finally said something us old guys can relate to. i have to agree with you on some of your statement. however i think the magic should look at moving hedo, jameer, and duhon for a pg. i am still not sold on gil but he will be impossible to get rid of. re-sign j-rich. he is better than what's out there. a defensive player would help at any position.

    Offseason Thread part 2

you guys make for some minor entertainiment but at the end of the day how many have actually followed the nba path of ellis. think about the magic defense with ellis as the sg and gil as the pg. the word defense would not exist. the magic would be better off with nelson and jj. also the offense would be out of control. might be fun to watch at times but do you really think this team could win it all with those two bone heads. who guards rose, wade, rondo, etc. i can not believe the magic woud give up 2 or 3 solid young players to get a small no defense sg. they would be better off to look at other options.

    Offseason Thread part 2

i am sure everyone knows that the nba is first a big business. howard is being advised by his agent and finance manager. he is doing what he needs to do to maximize his earning power. if it means staying in orlando then i think tha is what he wants. however he will be advised to do what is best for his future earnings. the orlando magic will do the same and keeping him in orlando must be their number one objective. everyone wants to win because that is what generates the big money for the owners and players. getting it done is the big question. the magic are close with the team they have. one more strong player at pg or sf and they can make it. i would use nelson and hedo to get that player.

    What this team lacks

have to agree with magicinfresno completely. the order of importance is correct also. nelson is a good guy and a good pg but he would be better as a second unit guy. gil is done in my mind. i just do not see the urgency to play hard in his makeup. you have to defend the paint and the pg position to win a championship. we have one but we need the other.

Could be the end for a lot of guys

what ever the magic do they have to get an upgrade at the pg position and that is not gil. also i do not think they will trade jj. he is a great role player and team guy who fills a big need off the bench and can start when needed. i would do the deal to get brand and iggy and somehow find a pg who can defend and run the team.

Golden State confirms talks with Orlando

great players play defense because it is part of them and it is a big part of winning. ellis will never be a good defender because it not in his make up. with him and nelson the magic would have the worst defensive guards in the nba. at leasy jj is bigger and gives you a solid effort on defense, is much smarter, and does what it takes to win. not to mention he is a solid guy and fills the seats at amway. plus ellis wil not get 20 shots a night and his average will drop. i am all for getting a scorer but j-rich and jj are better for this team than ellis. get someone else.

    Gilbert Arenas Twitter

what a waste of time. when we got gil i was excited but i will be more excited when he is gone. we have enough distractions as it is. what was the magic thinking. otis should be fired for this alone.

Monta Ellis on the trading block

let me see if i have this right. we have gil and now we want to trade for ellis. after we get j.r. smith and mayo we would have four of the most undisiplined, no defense, nut cases in the nba. howard would be lucky to get a shot and we win 30 games and lose by 110 to 120 most of the time. sounds like a lot of fun to me. lets do it otis.

Could be the end for a lot of guys

i think getting jr smith would be great. we then have the 2 biggest nut cases in the nba. throw in mayo and it's a trifecta.

    Grade Otis Smith Sentinel Article

frist grading otis means nothing. he is at most just an advisor to the devos family. they have others making the big decision. his advice has been poor especially giving up lee for vince, giving up gortat, and the worst is gil. however he surely did not make the final decision on any of these deals. with that being said, i think there will be some big moves this summer to improve the pg/pf positions. they have to defend, rebound, and hopefully learn to pass. i am excited to see what happens. we will all be surprised.

Could be the end for a lot of guys

i say dump both of them. i do not see much future in either one. hopefully the new cba will give the magic the opportunity to do just that.

Could be the end for a lot of guys

have to agree with marc acres on j-rich. if he woulds take a big cut i would keep him. as for the other debate i would take granger, gay, and iggy. we need to get bigger, stronger, and smarter. i do no see that in smith or ellis. no defense and out of control. never fit with stan.
