IMO it is beyond stupid but supporters of the "take the BPA player regardless" theory would do it even if it alienated the face of your franchise.

Personally I totally disagree with the whole BPA idea. It's like you have 100 pairs of socks but need underwear. You go to the store and find that really good socks are on sale so you buy more socks instead of getting the underwear that you need. So now you have 120 pairs of socks and still need underwear. With your thinking if the BPAs for all 3 of our picks are all PFs do we take them even if we already have AG and Isaac?

There is a real easy solution. If all the good bigs are gone then we take Young and draft Carter or Brunson in the 2nd just in case Young is a bust. Bottom line is we need to come out of this draft with a PG and a center somehow, someway.

I've been pushing this logic for quite a while. If we have 12 & 13 we double our chance of success. We grab Sexton, SGA, or Melton and a big in the 1st round and grab another PG and a shooter in the 2nd round. Hopefully at least 1 of the 4 quickly becomes an NBA caliber starter. The Clippers want Porter, The Knicks want Young, and we also have several other teams wanting Young or Porter so we may walk away with a good package of picks and maybe a player or dump Biz and a pick for #6 if we are not thrilled with who is on the board.

I am really starting to think as long as his workout goes well that we need to take the chance with him, grab another PG in the 2nd round (Carter/Brunson/Okobo) in case he is a bust, and hope he is 50% as good as Curry right out the gate. Anybody we can get at 6 is flawed and a risk so why not at least go for the guy that led college basketball in points, assists, 3 pointers, and turnovers?

The Clips really want to trade up to take Porter. The Knicks really want Trae Young. Could management start a bidding war between them? Clips have #12, 13 Knicks have #9, 36 and just a throw in the Sixers have #10, 26, 38, 39, 56, 60

The more I think about what Curry does to other teams to change games, the fact that Mack is expiring leaving us with 1 PG on the roster, and the what if Trae Young IS the next Curry, I'm almost thinking we need to take the chance on him and then draft a 2nd PG in the 2nd round as a just in case. Worst case scenario he will be a high scoring bench PG, right?

Agree 100% on that. We need a go to scorer and if it happens to be somebody that can run an offense efficiently all the better.

Personally I don't see the reward on Porter being anywhere near what was projected for Embiid. There are so many people on his bandwagon because he was able to dominate against much smaller kids in high school and he looked kinda OK in the 2 games he played in the tournament. The health is indeed the key because back injuries have a way of needing more surgeries, rehab time, and also scar tissues causing problems. Any draftee is a risk but why multiply that risk if you don't have to?

AG is a tough call. I wouldn't want to be the one to make it!

It was a great game right up until the end of regulation. The Cavs could have won it but I don't care who wins, I just want great basketball like a championship should be. I think next game will be a blowout by the Warriors though.

You have to believe that management (being very familiar with Casey) having plenty of time to check out coaches think that Clifford will be the best coach available in our situation.

I think most of us would be thrilled with average right now compared to what we have been dealing with over the last several years. Average in the league is probably playoffs in the east. I would have to guess that management talked to him at length about philosophies on where we want to go. Wasn't he a shooting coach when he was here before?

As blatant as those non calls were along with waving off the made 3 and 1 and calling it a foul on the floor, how do YOU explain it? Again I didn't care who won the game but IMO there is no excuse for calls and non calls that bad. These refs were supposed to be the best in the business and it cost the Rockets a potential 13 points in a very short period of time. And yes I agree the Rockets used the wrong tactics, they got away from what was working.

I agree with you that the NBA is rigged. There is sooooo much money involved, ratings, advertising, endorsements, etc. With the Rockets already winning there were 4 calls in a short period of time that were so obvious. Harden should have been shooting 3 free throws on 3 of them and had an and 1 on the made bank shot when he was clearly fouled on the way up. The announcers even commented on each of them that they were obviously bad calls and the replays showed the same. I didn't have a horse in the race so I didn't care who won making my opinion totally unbiased.

He is an amazing player. His ability to get his shot off so quick in addition to being able to weave through the trees to get to the hole is spectacular. Having a PG like that changes the way the floor is spaced and teammates get so many more opportunities. Maybe one day we'll get lucky and get someone half as good.
