I know we all miss Dwight's big A$$ down low but keep in mind that trading him was the only way to get out of the salary cap hell that Otis put us in. We had no room to grow and nowhere to grow. Nobody wanted any of our players, so trading Dwight at his request actually really helped the team for our future... plus we got rid of Duhon and JRich.

Jameer's leadership is crucial with the team we have. IMO we don't get blown out very often when he's healthy :D

I have held off on my prediction until I could see a few games. I'm guessing 40-45 wins.

I think our marginal talent will magnify as players we already had... at least Meer, JJ, and Big Baby step out of Dwight's shadow. Combined that with the attitude and efforts of our new players the new MAGIC could possibly even surprise us diehard fans! Add in a coach that that is sharp enough to make substitutions at the right time and the fact that we haven't really even seen 2 of our better players play yet,, who knows?

I like his coaching too! He seems to make correct substitutions and a team that believes in him!

My wife is renewing her interest in MAGIC basketball. She told me that she lost interest in the old MAGIC because even she knew what we were going to do every time down the court LOL. Throw it down to Dwight while everybody camps out on the 3 point line. Dwight gets fouled, turns it over, shoots, or passes to an open man when double teamed=gone! I love the way that almost every rebound there are 2 or 3 of our guys on the ball and the way the ball gets down the court in a hurry. As I said after the 1st game... any team that doesn't take us serious is in trouble! 20 more wins and we match what the so called experts predicted.

I wish we hadn't have traded Gortat, I really liked his game! That being said a few years from now Nikola will be awesome and we will be great again and in the meantime... GO MAGIC!!!

Watching the Nets game and Lopez with his Matador defense... I'm so glad we didn't trade for him... I like our bigs better! Love what Big Baby did last night and has been doing for a while!

IMO teams that don't take this team seriously will lose. We may have mediocre players in some peoples' opinions, but we are deep with mediocre players and that might even be better than 5 good starters and a sucky bench!

I am so excited to see our Magic going back to a TEAM game instead of worrying about 1 guy's stats and touches. I think this team will surprise a lot of people. I don't think we are a championship potential team at this point but I think we'll beat a few teams that are! On a side note last night our wonderful ex-center went 3-14 from the line and was outplayed and out rebounded by Elton Brand (of all people) on several plays :D

I hope he gets picked up by a team with a shot at a ring. The guy was nothing but great support for us!

I'm not much of a cap guy but if we move one of the higher salary guys does that put us under the minimum? If not then lets trade Q for a TPE or a 2nd and get rid of CJohnson and Harper. I think McBob might be able to pay once acclimated a bit better.

I lived in L.A. during the"Showtime" era but knew I would be moving to Florida sometime in the future. When I heard Orlando was getting a team I was very excited to be a fan from the original conception. We moved here in '94 and have an '89 shirt and an '89 jacket that you'll see at some games. We are with this team through thick and thin :D

Unfortunately the player's union is filing a grievance and they are right. The NBA doesn't have the authority to issue those fines without running it by the association. I think they will end up making it a tech.

Raises hand... I make a motion to move this thread to around the NBA so we can all get back to focusing on the exciting rebuild we have going on!

I will continue to support the Magic as I have done since '89. I for 1 am very excited about the prospects that we have to rebuild with and the staff that we have put together. This will be a fun team to watch grow, maybe the best rebuild team we've ever had!
