  1. It's live now, link on Magic website!

  3. If we get Vince or some other good scorer, I can easily see us wining 50, without its gonna be 45 or even less. Our roster is still flawed, hard to say before we see the trades.
  4. Don't underestimate Otis, he's clearly on a mission to bring championship to Orlando. And national press talk is just a beginning.
  5. Cnn.com , and exact link to article http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/basketball/nba/05...p/index.html?cnn=yes But man would think anyone can figure out the Cnn website, lol.

Magic Name Billy Donovan Head Coach

quote: Originally posted by Erik:This guy seems like an all around winner,i'm looking forward to seeing him on the Magic sidelines. Exactly why Otis picked him, he always likes to say that either you win or you don't, theres no 2nd place in NBA and I think he found his soulmate in Donovan. Go Magic, go Otis! And welcome aboard Billy!

Curious about ages of Forum members?

23 here, looks like a popular age among board members.
  8. I like Lewis, but I'm not sold on him yet. If Grant comes back for another year or two, I think Trevor and him have SF position covered just fine. And then there's also Hedo who's future is not really known yet (a lot depends on Grant, if he is coming back or not) I am really hoping that Otis and our future coach will sit down before we get any FA, because this is a very good chance to not only get a coach that will fit our team, but also get some player(s) that will fit the coach wishes. Sure if we get rid of Hedo and Grant, then Lewis would be a nice fit, but we would still be in a need of a SG (I would hate to play our guys out of their natural positions like we have done last year).

Stan Van Gundy Eyeing Orlando Job

Junkie, relax man, you seem to be very tense since Brian is not our head coach anymore. Otis hasn't even talked to this guy and you are already half way to the office to cancel your tickets. You always seemed to be positive, even about our coach, don't turn into another Knappy .
  10. In Otis we trust! I don't see how being in a hot seat is a problem, like Otis said, you either win or you don't, nothing else matters. Everyone is always on a hot seat in NBA, if you fail you are gone.
  11. Well so far Otis just appologized and said that everyone has to improve, players, him, coach. He also said that him and Bob sat together and talked about where the team is going, and that it was Otis who made the final decision to replace coach. I'm glad to hear that Otis is the one making decisions like this. Otis also said he has a list made, but cant say anything about it, he is not giving any names out yet, and he said he wont answer any emails and phone calls for some time now (like he hasnt last 3 weeks). Also saying that we have some pieces for our future that he likes, but that we still have a lot to do in the summer. (Obviously) Here is some of the info, everything will be probably available in the transcript, like it usually is on our website.
  12. Otis on set now, go watch it !
  13. quote: Originally posted by nbr3345:I should be able to watch this tonight. Its getting late, but hopefully I can catch it. I expect nothing more than an official announcement, a bit of recognition and what we can expect of Brian within the organization. I think it would be nice for the fans in particular to show a little character and wish him well. As he's expected to continue working within the organization. Nice to see us move forward though, or more so make an attempt. Should start in 10 minutes if my clocks are right, you can stay up that long if you are here already . Edit: Broadcast started already, waiting for Otis.
  14. Would be nice if we get to hear about the replacement, or at least candidates that Otis is planning to talk to if he hasn't already. Also have to compliment the organization and our site admins to work very well together and put conferences online most of the time - not everyone does it.

Who will be our new head coach???

quote: Originally posted by Adam_Magic:It doesnt once bash Donovan, the writer is talking about why he shouldnt become the Magic coach, yes he is a Gator homer and doesnt want him to leave but the points still hole weight. Also he talks about Iavoroni and Carlisle and their suitability! Yeah sorry, that is what I meant. He's saying he cant make it in the Nba just so he would stay there. I just think it's a poor article - as there is no new information there.

Who will be our new head coach???

That seems more like bashing Donovan article, then the article about our situation. Thanks for posting it anyway, at least we get some opinions of the writer.

Who will be our new head coach???

I would go with Donovan as well, as long as he can keep his hands of GM position.

Who will be our new head coach???

This is it then. Nice to see that the organization is not afraid to make a move if necessary. Seems like they were just waiting for arena voting to be done and for the draft lottery. I hope Otis is staying and that he will take part in acquiring new coach as he never disappointed us yet. Go Magic and go Otis, good luck with getting us new coach and remaining pieces in the summer !

    Off-season roster prediction time!

Jameer was one of the biggest disappointments this year, in terms of improvement and was also the one taking the shots, and therefore blamed a lot for our loses. I think he will stay 1 more year before Otis decides what's his future gonna be like. On the other side, maybe we were just expecting too much. If he works on his defense, I think he can definitely be maybe even our main PG of the future. Anyway here are his stats for this season in comparison with Chauncey Billups in his 3rd year (same age as Jameer back then): Nelson: MPG 30, FG 43%, 3P 34%, FT 83%, RPG 3.1, APG 4.3, SPG 1.0, TO 2.4, PPG 13.0 Billups: MPG 23, FG 42%, 3P 37%, FT 85%, RPG 2.1, APG 3.4, SPG 0.7, TO 1.4, PPG 9.3 I wouldn't be surprised if Otis trades him or finds another main PG, but I think he can turn out just fine, specially if he works on his defense. I hope I didn't go off topic too much with this little insert.

    Off-season roster prediction time!

I dont think that Grant will retire, I think he wants to play atleast a year or 2 more. I dont see him taking any unreasonably big money, im predicting he will take whatever Otis will have left in the budget(that being vet min or whatever we have left) in the end after resiging Darko and our new FA. Gone will be Arroyo, Diener, Bogans, Outlaw. Hedo might be gone as well, but that depends on who we get in the FA. Other then that, I hope we can also find new main and big man coach.
  22. Post game quotes are up, http://www.nba.com/magic/playoffs/quotes_042807det.html.
  23. Looks like they put it down for some reason.
  24. This game was good performance of our team and the box score really shows whats good and bad about our team. Dwight and Darko, Dwight has to work a little more on his FT's, besides great performance by both. Grant played good, very high % shooting (7/8 fg), but some unfortunate TO's. Tony played OK for his minutes and Jameer had a relatively good night aswell, except the mismatch on defensive end. Hedo's shot was suffering again, but overall he played somehow fine (6pt,5reb,4ast,1stl,1to). Redick showed he can hit his shot under pressure, too bad he didnt get his chance before. Ariza has some work to do on his shooting, otherwise a solid game. Dooling played aggressive and is in my opinion the 1st backup PG of our future, maybe even more depending on what Otis will do in the summer. Also honorable mention of Pat, who was cheering really loud, go Pat and Magic!
