I find myself in an odd position, I can’t really point to one guy on our team as a “problem” that we absolutely have to solve. We have a lot of guys who seem injury prone - G Harris, Kelle, WCJ, have all missed significant time over the last couple years. I think Chuma is probably gone this summer, and I’m not sure if we can afford Goga, as I expect someone will make him a better offer. If we can find a reliable replacement for G Harris, we might move on from him, just because of his injury history. I think Ingles has been good enough and consistent enough that you take the option. I actually think we need to explore trade options for Cole.

I don’t expect him to suddenly start making threes. I do expect he will continue to be a positive influence on the team, and that he can make the guys around him play a bit more cerebral. I think it’s all down to his health. He has shown a willingness to do what ever the team has asked of him. I don’t think he will ever be a consistent starter for us, but he is still only 25. Markelle probably isn’t going to have a big game where he can’t miss like Cole; but he isn’t going to shoot you out of a game on a night where he can’t hit crap and continues taking bad shots, also like Cole. I don’t know if anyone would give him more than a vet minimum this summer, his history just doesn’t justify much more. I would try to keep him, on a much more team friendly, short term contract; something like 3 years/$8M, with the third being a team option.

I would have to disagree. , Kelle comes in and can calm the team down and get them back into running some sets, Ingles can to a lesser degree. AB can’t do that, at least not yet. I’m not sure if Cole will ever, though there are flashes - he’s just not a natural PG.

Suggs with the touchdown pass! F Wagner with the fake, then the lay-in

Magic off to a good start tonight!

You and I don’t often agree, but for once we are 100% on the same page!
-
And just like that, it’s a 16 point lead!

I’m out of upvotes, but I agree 100%

Just a reminder, Jameer Nelson was a #20 pick.

We do seem to have a bad habit of starting slow, and it probably will cost us a game somewhere along the line; but we should all know by now, a slow start doesn’t automatically mean a loss, regardless of what Magictime22 thinks!

PS Magic up by 11 with 1:15 to go

You just don’t seem to learn. Every time you have declared a loss in the first or early second quarter, the Magic battle back, and usually win. I hope that $300 isn’t your lunch this month, cause I see lots of PB&J in your future! It would serve you right for betting against “your “ team!

Whopper is Burger King, genius! LOL!

Thank you for your insight, Debbie Downer! Wah, wah, waaaaaah. Tie game!

This is why scouting is part science, part psychology, and part luck. In person interviews really helps to understand who a player will become.

It means we either won by more than the oddsmakers said we would, won when they said we would lose, or lost by less than they predicted. If they predicted us to lose by 10, and we lost by 7 or won, then we beat the spread. If they predict us winning by 10 and we win by 12, we beat the spread.

When will you learn not to be so negative? I’m not saying a bad start is positive, but it’s not always the end of the world, either! I’ve seen you say this kind of thing before, only to end up eating your words by the end of the game.Try waiting and watching until at least halfway thru the third before jumping to a negative conclusion. It’s not just you, but the mood swings on this board lately is enough to give me whiplash . I think we need some risperidone or abilify prescriptions for all the bi-polar reactions on here.

It’s all about how you look at it. Dwight had the better Magic career, Shaq the much better “full” career. Frankly, I wouldn’t retire either of their jerseys based on what they did here in Orlando.

Either that or he has twice as much chance of fouling!

I’m actually okay with the door hitting him in the a— on the way out! Lol!!

I would hate to give up on Fultz, but I definitely would do it for the right move. I’m afraid he is never going to be physically right to live up to his potential. I would be okay bringing him back as a cheaper backup. I would also prefer not to give up on AB this soon, as I think there is a lot of untapped potential there as well; and I think he has a chance to be very good; but again, for the right move I would consider moving him. I don’t think Houstan has as much potential, but I wouldn’t mind keeping him for another year to see how much more he can grow as a player. He rarely makes mistakes and seems to play decent defensively.. I honestly think we need to move on from Cole once he is not a “poison pill” contract- this summer once the new contract kicks in. He is too much of a black hole, and his BBIQ seems low. Maybe use him as part of a free-agent sign and trade? If we don’t make a trade at the deadline, then I would like us to move Chuma and/or G Harris to open up a roster spot for another PG. We could possibly elevate Queen to a regular contract and make McClung into a two-way, or vice-versa if there isn’t a better PG to be had. I was surprised we brought back both K Harris and Schofield, and signed Queen to the third two-way; I really thought we needed Mac or another PG with one of those spots. Edit: I would be okay with releasing K Harris or Schofield to make McClung or another PG our third two-way.

His extension means his outgoing value is about $12M, but you only get about $5.5M In matching incoming

Unfortunately, Cole has a “poison pill” contract. I honestly think he is the piece that needs to be moved for a Tyus Jones or Brogdan type player.

Chumas problem isn’t that his shot is broken, it’s his confidence that has taken several hits. When he defers, he thinks too much; but when he gets aggressive, and just plays, everything gets going. I would like to see him down in the G-League for a bit to let him be the alpha. His defense the last few games has been outstanding. He played Trae as well as anyone; and remember he is a PF/SF combo trying to guard one of the quickest PG in the league. Also a shout out to Trevelin Queen. Last night I was hoping Mosley would put him in instead of Cole!

But it’s supposed to be about what they actually accomplished with the team. I would argue that the Lakers should and the Heat probably should retire his number, but I don’t think we should. I would argue that Dwight did more while he was with the Magic; partly because he was here longer. D12 had a better defensive game, Shaq had a much better offensive game and career.
