    2023-2024 General Game Thread

There're a lot of different stats nowadays, advanced and not, and all of them could tell a different story. Even if true, AB is clearly not ready to be a starter yet, as showed in a lot of games in which he played limited minutes. That's normal, he's a rookie. We could agree that Fultz is not a great fit with the rest of the core, we discussed that a lot of time in the past, but we definitely need more at PG in the future of what we had in that streak. FO at some point will have to decide on Markelle future, but until that point, having him back could be a minus in some situations, but should be a plus overall.

Has been a great streak and every streak has an end. Not worried overall by losing yesterday game in a back to back, but a little slip on defensive standard was noted in previous games too, so that's the priority in those days off. Both Markelle and Wendell are better players right now of the ones that we had on the starting lineup, and even if I understand the chemestry point of view, as soon as they're ready we'll need them.

Even if not starting, Harris is shooting 47,6% and is by far our best shooter, like it was last season. Coach has to find a way to use him better and open the floor more for the other guys. Having both him and Ingles in the second unit doesn't make a lot of sense, when the starting lineup is desperately lacking outside shooting.

Don't know if we have to make compliments to the coach to make the obvious right move (after a lot of missed adjustments that cost us in the past games) he's paid for that. :) Overall, our record is clearly great if compared with last season, but we're still a team with a lot of ups and downs, and that's quite normal given the age. Apart from the coach, I miss a leader inside the team, that guy able to raise the performance and attention of the rest of the group and avoid some of the downs. If asked who's the leader right now, I would be unable to answer.

He seems even slower, but he has always been that way somehow. He doesn't help the team with phisical attributes, but with a lot of little things that are important in the team environment, not least the IQ. I don't believe he's our main problem now, even if still recovering. He probably needs those minutes to be back to good form.

For a team that is mostly focused on def, we conceded a whole lot of easy points in the 4th quarter, a lot of them while insisting with Mo. I've shared my doubts about the coach for all last season already, so I'll not insist, but we need to see improvement with both players and coaching too. For all the rest, I mostly agree with CT, and that's not a good sign. Are you a bit more negative about that team than last season, aren't you? :)

Coach always say defense first, so probably not ready yet on that facet. (EDIT: read Soul post after writing, I agree with him obviously)

A shame for Gary too, as he had a great start of the season.

Designed that way, it doesn't really make any sense. I already said last summer that I would have liked some kind of tournament as the ones that are made in Europe at the halfpoint of the season, but like that... MEH

Ingles is surely still finding his legs, but another problem could be that we played him at SF for most time (together with Mo and Isaac usually) and for his age and history, he probably need to play more as a stretch PF as CTMagic pointed when we signed him. Too slow to play against SF at the moment. If Wendell is going to miss some time, we'll probably see Ingles more at PF. Reason why I'm actually more worried about our backcourt injuries, let's hope there's nothing major that early.

Ingles is quite old and recovering from a complex injury. I imagine that coach Mosley is giving him the minutes to regain confidence, even if he doesn't fully deserve them at the time. But he need them, if he doesn't recover and be back to the player he was, our signing wasn't really a good idea. Same could be said for the Harris situation. I believe that everyone see that right now, he's the best fit with the starting lineup (he was a starter last season...) but Suggs could be a long term solution, we're putting the faith in him and see what happens.

It's not the only thing that I would like to know about FO... two losses and the forum is already starting to be back doubting the team after a long period of optimism. btw, what happened to CTMagic?

We actually have a whole lot of depth, the 5 players that where called for garbage time are actually quite good (high draft picks included) At some point, I'm still convinced we'll need to trade multiple players for more quality (also impossible to keep everyone happy with minutes), but until that point, I wish we enjoy the ride and see how it goes.

Good season to everyone. Hopins is going to be a really good one, and especially healthy!

No need to be alongside, but there're a lot of minutes available that last season were owned by Mo Wagner, Bamba and later Bitadze. Let's just hope he can stay healthy, his role will be determined by that.

Lack of answers say no! :P I actually like him, but not sure he's what we need now, and injury history is also worrysome.

Franz is considered day to day and is training a little, didn't play today but wasn't really necessary (weak opposition). Mo is playing great tough.

I've pointed the same during the season. That said, he still needs to improve on everything, and FT obviously too, considering the high volume, the difference between 74% and 85% could be a couple of key wins more in the standings.
