Doesn’t appear we will have a dedicated game thread for our second game of the season, on the road at Portland.  Game is at 10PM because it’s on the West Coast.  Magic favored by 3 points against a Portland team that starts the season dead last in the NBA power rankings.

Let’s get this one and remain undefeated for the season!

After this game I would say Portland is probably not going to be dead last this season.  They aren’t…terrible…

What? I'm not angry. I don't care what the Hornets do. This would be a quiet thread if people didn't give opinions on picks.

It was the other part where you said that their entire career will be judged before they play a game.  No worries, not accusing you of anger but you called yourself out which is funny.

My favourite part of the immediate draft discourse is when people get mad their favourite team didn't pick their guy and/or picked a guy they didn't like and act like the players entire career has been decided before they've played a game in the NBA.

I don't know but I'm feeling like this board could be very fun in an hour and a half.

I'll see what happens. But I don't believe at all that Brandon Miller will be the 2nd best player in this draft.

    And it begins!

Actually I doubt they use all three draft picks, even if it’s just trading our current second rounder for a future second rounder

I didn’t consider the second rounder, sorry! Much higher % then perhaps 100%, roster spots are limited and vets will be on the menu after the draft is over.

A little depressing that yet once again we’re mostly talking about people (other than Grady Dick) who would have to develop a shot.

Or am I missing something?  Admit to not following college basketball very closely (and some of the guys we’re talking about aren’t even college players).

One can make an argument that he would be our best lead guard since Penny. Why would that be a bad fit?

That’s not an argument I would want to have to defend.  Bad fit because we don’t need a lead guard.  We need shooting, defense, length.  Good, not great, prospect…he’ll do well in Portland.

I don't believe that the Hornets are going to pass on drafting Scoot and trading him for "a bunch" - which would be more than just drafting Miller.

If they have a FO that is smart, (IMHO), they should do what the Magic did back in 1993, draft Webber and trade him for Penny and 3 1st's.

In this case, for example, Scoot to the Magic for 6, 11 and Markelle.

That’s too much for Scoot and he’s not a good fit for us anyway.

  8. These kind of smoke screens happen every year.  It wouldn’t surprise me to see the Thompson twins slip a little, but would would pass them? Cam keeps getting talked about but Hendricks is better than him, Jarace Walker is a mistake and most likely to fall on draft night imo, Anthony Black is unexciting for a top pick.  Honestly the draft feels thinnish this year.

I love Scoot for us. I don’t see anyone who’s a true lead guard PG and Fultz isn’t a guy I’d say he makes us so much better.

We were a much better team with Markelle.  We don’t need a lead guard pg.  Paolo and Franz are our distributors.  We don’t need more cooks in the kitchen, we need high level role players. Scoot is a good prospect I just don’t think with where we’re at in our build that he fits.  We need 3&D with length.  He doesn’t provide that kind of versatility for us nor would it come quickly.  His trade worth is of greater value to our team than his playing worth, in my opinion.
