NOT SO BREAKING NEWS: Hedo Turkoglu will opt out

How many more years has he got left and besides in his interview yesterday he said he has to look after himself and his family so remind me again how much a championship is worth against $10m? Having said thatI thknk both he and Otis could well come to a mutual arrangment where he does stay but not at all costs. 10 in how many years? The difference won't be more than two million per annum. He will have made almost 100 million dolars when his career ends. That is enough for his family I suppose. A ring is more important than an extra 10 million for a person who have 100 milion$

He cracked under pressure like a little girl and missed 2 FT in the last 10 seconds. If he made 1, we are tied 2-2. Dwight is a joke. D12 is the reason why Magic was in the game. He paleyed great.
  4. If Magic lose this game it will be Stan's fault. With Hedo out,Rafer is the main decision maker, which is ridicious. Whenever he loses the ball it is an automatic fast break for Lakers. Where is Anthony Johnson?
  5. It is a great win but I am sceptical about the rest of the series. The officals did everything for the floppers. When Lebron bangs into a Magic Player it is a defensive foul. When Varejao pushes D-12 out of bounds it isn't a foul. And the Cavs still can't win the match. I have a suggestion for a new rule for the Cavs to be able to beat Magic. Everey time a Cav player commits an offensive foul, they should be awarded with two free throws. When there is a defensive foul against the Magic, the Cavs should have three free throws. If it is Lebron who is fouled, he should shoot four free throws, plus the Cavs should be given the posssesion. Thus, Everyone will be happy except Orlando. Lebron will score 60 pts everynight, the sponsors will be happy, broadcasters will be happy (Assuming the same rules applies for Lakers, too so that they can eleminate Denver and we can watch the "Dream final" between the two best floppers in the leauge. Mark my words, there will surely be an officitating scandal in Cleveland tomorrow.

Does Rashard need to be benched?

This is the funniest thread I have ever seen, benching your maximum-wage player. Everyone knows he is overpaid but benching him is ridiculous. He is playing out of position and has a physical disadvantage and I have never heard him complaining. He is not selfish also. You are lucky to to have such a player. Trade Amare for Rashard and see where Orlando will end up. (Most Probably worse than Suns.) As for leadership, D-12 is the leader of this team. Don't look for anybody else.
  7. quote: Originally posted by ankara:Hedo have significant drop on his statistics this year with respect to last season. Why? - Opponents are using smaller players (guards) to defence him in order to stop his ball handling and penetration. This type of defence force him to jump shots and threes. - Pick and roll plays are not efficient. Both defender stick on him to close passing directions and force to long range shot over the hands. - Slightly change on Magic's game plan from run&gun to half court game. Hedo is obviously much more succesfull on run&gun and open court. - His mind confused because of his contract and his role in team. Dwight have big developement on his game this year. Lewis is getting better position 4 on offence and defence. He have to understand his new role in team. He will make plays when point guard stucked or SVG needs. But he have to know that he is not superstar using more than 20 ball in a game. Solution : - Playing his game only without forcing unless SVG ask more. - If his defender is short guy (like parker-Toronto or cook-miami), he needs to post-up. ( Its not known in NBA but he can plays efficiently in paint when he have short match-up) - playing more pick&roll with lewis instead of dwight creates more problems for help defence and matchup. and no need to worry about defender switch on this pick&roll because there is no number-4 in NBA who can stand front of Hedo on open court. - Contract !! doing his job - getting finals - then Contract is Otis's problem, not Hedo's. - Good luck !!! there is no excuse to miss wide open shots. FOR TRADERS ; - AK47 3FG% 0,307 career and 0,216 for this season. Both are worse than Hedo's beast-this year. AK47 FG% is high due to points in paint not because of jump shots. He never suits Magic Game plan (Dwight + shooters) but if you wanna trade Ron Artest from Rockets, Rick Adelman will be (for sure) happy to say welcome his kid Hedo. That is the best post about Hedo I have ever seen. (Apart from the A.K part. A.K is one of the best team players in the world. Stats doesn't show his true value) Excellent analysis. I want to add that hedo may have awfull shooting nights, but he should never give up being agressive defensively. He can be a very good defender if he wants to. NBA mentality is usualy a box-score mentality and unfortunately hedo learnt this from his second year on in NBA. I have been watching hedo since he was 16 (I am a devoted Turkish basketball fan)and he was a nightmare for opponents with his long arms and relative quickness. He didn't impove his defense, I can even say it regressed. On the offensive end, he has a rare basketbal IQ as he was raised to be a point guard in his Efes Pilsen Youth team. What makes hedo make some stupid decisions sometimes is his egoism. Whenever he wants to get D-12 involved, he does it. But then he starts to play for himself, making stupid jumpshots or lay-ups. Soemtimes he messes up. It is worse when they go in because then he thinks he can always do it. Last year I had told in these message boards that there is a potential danger with hedo. When has a few good matches in a row, he thinks that he can win games by himself. However his contribution to his team is underestimated. When he has a team first mentality he is one of the best small forwards in the league. Without hedo, the offensive choices of the team will be reduced to half. I wish hedo could understand he doesn't need to score plus 20 for a win because he has all that is necessary to help his team win. (Ball handling, passing, court vision, and defense if he really wants as he did in the national team)

    Turkoglu and Okur on TV

quote: Originally posted by RoBo2002:Wow, low blow.... We need a better point guard? Im suprised to see him say that publicly, even though I agree with it He didn't say such a thing. He meant "in addition to J-Meer, we need a point guard."

Take it as you want but that is some critisism towards Jameer as the PG. Because Jameer is more of a scorer, (Hedo knows it too!) Translated he said something like this: ''We need a guard who can make the team run'' Yes, he did make remarks about the bench. He said more experienced players are needed. It was interesting to hear he is likely to play the 2 next year, if he stays in Orlando off course. He didn't mean replacing J-Meer. He was talking about the reserves and he said that the offense was running through J-Meer, He and D-12 and they need a point guard to get the team running when J-Meer, He and D-12 are out

    Hedo for Calderon...

If you have 5 minutes to wacth them you will never talk about Calderon trade. Pau Gasol's in that video to. How's he working out for L.A.? It works because he plays for L.A not Orlando. Even I could get every call I wanted if I played for L.A.

    Hedo for Calderon...

That is a funny thread for several reasons. 1. Jameer is not going anywhere. He is Dwight's best friend and he has a big contract. 2. Ford is not going anywhere as opposeded to some predictions here. He is Bosh's best friend from high-school and he has a big contract, too. 3. Why should Orlando do this, trading a player who proved very useful for a player that might be useful. 4. Calderon is the second biggest flopper in the world, only second to Navarro. (Guess where is Navarro from.)But he is not advertised like Lebron or Kobe, so he won't get the foul everytime he flops.

    2008 PLAY-OFFS *Game 5 - Stay Alive*Statement

Orlando shouldn't expect much more than this. Detroit is one of the top 5 teams in the NBA and if Orlando could grab only just two defensive rebounds it could easily be 3-2 for Orlando. D-12 and J-Meer are still growing, next year we will have a PF and Hedo and Lewis will be on the team too. Going one step further wouldn't mean much and we all know we wouldn't have won the championship even if we had beaten Detroit. Good job, Orlando. I think most fans will feel the same way when the frustration is over.
  14. quote: Originally posted by RoBo2002:Toronto is looking to upgrade their SF position this offseason, and I bet Turk is the only realistic player that would land us Calderon. They are very high on this guy, and for good reason. They sure dont have a dumb GM, and the only way he lets Calderon go, is if he gets a really good player back. You must be joking. You are still talking about acquiring him after Game 2. What I meant was he is flopper and shouldn't be a part of this team. He can be a part of a girls' team though. Who needs a flopper when the refs aren't on your side?

    Playoffs Game 2 April 22, 7:30 PM

Toronto should acquire Navarro, Gasol and Manu, too. That would make them an all-flopping team and they will never be beaten with these refs. If you don't beleive me,take a look at the last two world championships and European championship.
