    Trades that could happen..

The Clips pick in 2012 is Twolves unprotected 1st too, thats hott. I will say though Aminu should hope he reaches Wilson's level I agree Wilson is what he is but what he is is not a bad thing.

Offseason Thread part VI: Return of the Lockout

Too bad we can't go back to the days where players didnt have a choice really in where they went(maybe they did but didnt seem like as much of a choice). If Dwight really did say he wanted to go to L.A.(which I do not believe) I guess Orlando could trade him to the Clips and just say fine you got your wish of going to L.A.! They could offer a hundred times better of a trade than the Lakers.

Offseason Thread part VI: Return of the Lockout

Cousins is too immobile to play with most powerforwards in my opinion he should play the 5 like he did at times last season, I do like Thompson a lot though but doesnt look like he is in their future, Otis should jump on that with the awesome assets he has acquired the last few season.
  5. I completely agree, Orlando threw money for average players and locked them into bad contracts. Which is where this whole discussions stemmed from in Charles Barkley's statements. The NBA functions a lot on star power.
  6. Disagree. Major factors though but basketball is too much of a team sport to assume Kobe could have been as competitve without Shaq or Gasol.
  7. I agree, like in the Magic's case and the awful contracts we currently have that is just poor management. If it was a 100% true that the more money you spend the better the team you will have then it would be Lakers Magic finals every year. Having said that though, both the Lakers and Magic have been very competitive year after year which leads me to believe throwing a lot of money has something to do with that.
  8. Rich owners, money making large markets? Point is if you have the money in the NBA you can put a better team on the court period and that just is true. I am not going any further cause I have been on these boards long enough to know that if I don't stop you definately won't. As for my views? I am with Barkley on this one.
  9. I should have said hard cap. Cause really the NBA salary cap for large market teams may as well be no cap like it is for baseball.
  10. You're right, as a person who is somewhat a fan of baseball, I cannot stand the Yankees for that very reason. For that same reason I cannot stand the Heat. Plus, the players on those small market teams that don't have the opportunity to stack talent that actually do win every once in a while, those core players that were major contributors usually get bought by those Yankee like teams before too long. I would be a bigger supporter of the MLB if they did have a salary cap to promote equality throughout the league.
  11. Charles Barkley blames the movement of several of the game's best players to the NBA's biggest markets as part of the reason why the owners are so committed to overhauling the current CBA. “Well I think, and I’m not saying this because I’m in the NBA, if you go back and look, David Stern has been the best commissioner in sports the last 25 years. It would take a miracle on his part not to have a lockout and I truly believe that. I think there’s going to be a lockout, I think the owners are dug in, I think they want to send a message to these players. “I think they’re really upset by this LeBron James-Chris Bosh situation, because their teams don’t have to be really good, but I feel like if they have a star in their market they can make some money. And if all the stars want to play together . . . we’re almost becoming like baseball where you’ve got a few good teams and the rest of them stink.” Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/214456/Barkley_Cites_Superstar_Movement_As_A_Main_Cause_Of_Lockout#ixzz1QggMQJVN Barkley for new league commish! or Orlando Magic GM ;)

Maybe all we need is tweaks

Trade Hedo, Redick, and Qrich for a resigned Stuckey, Rip, and Big Ben then take Jameer and Rhyno and flip them to Sacramento for a resigned Thornton and Jason Thompson. Sign Prince or AK47. I don't know exactly why Pistons would do it aside from maybe Redick, Stuckey will get his minutes cut with their new rook running the point, Rip is about ready to shoot his way out of Detroit, they will probably lose Prince so they get Turk in return and get Qrich for a defensive sub. Losing Big Ben might be big for them since they would be thin at the 5. Sacramento has said they want some good big guys, Rhyno is a young stud who could grow with their core. Marcus is going to get his minutes decreased with the addition of Jimmer in an already crowded backcourt, then I remember reading rumors they were trying to add Aaron Brooks so Jameer could fill that spot since he is better than Brooks anyways. They do lose Thompson which they probably don't want to do but Rhyno would be a decent replacement. I think it makes our team a better team overall, some might disagree which is fine I just thought I would throw out my ideas. :D I dont know how the salaries would match up either, but it's not like this is factual anyways.
