Are you talking about Cole or Paolo. This team cannot win with the ridiculous offense run by Mosely. Paolo with 31 shots and Franz with 21. No one else has more than 8. What a joke.

I was talking about Cole when he dribbled right into a crowd underneath the basket. He was determined to put the ball into the basket. Instead of passing the ball out to a teammate, he just kept going and going until he got the ball stolen. Typical Cole.

I'm sorry, I just saw your post.

Wow we blew a 22-point lead and lost at home. I knew the time off for Franz and Paolo would backfire. And sure enough that's exactly what happened in tonight's loss. They needed to win this game because quite frankly they have no chance to beat the Bulls in the next game. NONE. So, we're all set. The Hawks snagged the number 7 spot and the Bulls have the 8 spot.  Boston will destroy the Hawks in the playoffs. The Bulls stand a better chance taking on the Cavs with the way they are playing right now. It's just a shame that we close out the season losing 2 in a row at home. Oh well. Now it's on to the off season and hopefully improvements are made, such as bringing in a PG and some consistent shooters.

Thank you, JJZFL. Someone had to tell him. I'm sick and tired of it. He's the same one who said crazy stuff like this a few years ago.

11-5 when CoJo starts this year, including 9-2 in the last 11. He truly turned around our season and it makes me even more upset with Weltman and his lack of initiative at the deadline.

Huge game tonight! Hopefully we treat it like a game 7 and can shift our focus to Boston. Also, hope to see Niang get busted in his chops like he deserves. Go Magic!

You tell 'em big guy! (I don't know if you are big or not :P )

No disrespect to the other participants who are slightly or not at all giving major props to Cory Joseph. What you said about him, All Eyes On Me, are my sentiments. I know we are looking ahead to the future, but look at where we are right NOW. We would not be where we are right now if CoJo had not been called upon to lead us to the Magic Land, mainly due to injuries.

Some have been putting emphasis on his age, but he doesn't look that old, and he has a lot of zip and court vision than starters I have seen on other teams, and some here have been saying he shouldn't be in the league.

    Let's enjoy the ride.

If the visiting Denver Nuggets loose to the at home Houston Rockets today and both the Golden State Warriors at home vs Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves at home vs Jazz win their respective games, the Nuggets would finish in 7th place and fall into the Play-In Tournament !!!!

    Here’s why:

    • The Nuggets (49-32) are currently tied with the Clippers but hold a better conference record, giving them an edge over Los Angeles for now2.

    • If the Nuggets lose, their record drops to 49-33. Wins by both the Warriors and Timberwolves would also bring them to 49-33.

    • In this scenario, tiebreakers come into play. The Nuggets have the worst head-to-head records against the Clippers, Warriors, and Timberwolves among teams tied at 49-3327.

    • As a result, they would drop to 7th place and enter the Play-In Tournament247.

This outcome underscores the importance of today's game for Denver to avoid falling out of a guaranteed playoff spot.

Whoa, Albert Lergier! Why are you on the Magics' message board doing a breakdown of how the Nuggets will fare. You know I love you.

The Nuggets must be your second favorite team. :)

    Great game.

It seems like whenever Paolo isn’t playing, our role players like to run more and cut on offense.

It was also great to see, despite terrible refs, there was no whining, just a little complaining. With WCJ this would went differently..

I agree. I, along with other participants like JJZL have been saying this for the longest. Not running the ball is what has been lacking.

When I watch some of the other teams, they push the ball up the floor on offense. Our point guards, not name Jacobs, like to take their time putting the ball on the floor and let it roll across the half court line before picking it up.

By running the ball at fast pace, it doesn't give the opponent time to set up on defense.

I love the way our bench players played--ball movement and finding the open man.

I am very happy that we won against the Hawks last night. Most of you know that I am a die-hard  Magic fan. But my biggest concern is we have a few games to go in the regular season, then perhaps the playin. But the way the Magic played last night is not sustainable. We all know injuries do happen.

First:  All 5 starters played a lot of minutes and scored a lot of points. **Banchero played 37 minutes and Franz played 40 minutes** We've got to get more help from the bench (hopefully in scoring).

I understand that the product the Bucks had on the floor last night were unrecognizable bench players. However, our bench players played very well.

This was the point I was making in my post 20 hrs. ago after the game against the Hawks. The Magic's bench players need to be given an opportunity to play significant minutes down the stretch to see what we have (possibly if needed going into the playoffs--a bench with a significant bunch of roleplayers who wouldn't miss a beat while some of the starters are resting). Playing the bench last night gave the Magic a different look that other teams are not use to seeing.

We couldn't see that in the Hawks game the other night because the starters played heavy minutes.

    GO MAGIC!!!!

Second: I couldn't watch the game, so I don't know who came off the bench first, AB or Cole. As much as we complain about Cole, he does get hot every now and then. Last night, he played 10 minutes and scored only one point.

Third: Who was the backup center last night? I saw where Goga was listed as DNP. Is he injured?. At some point we need him against taller, bigger centers on other teams.

Wow so much negativity! Even after a huge win tonight! Thank goodness I am always positive here. I never see the glass as half empty. I never doubted this basketball team. Remember that old song by Journey? "Don't Stop Believin". We are clicking at just the right time folks. Look up the word positive in the dictionary and you will see a picture of me beside the definition holding a sign that says, "Don't Stop Believin!" GO MAGIC!

In reading this post, MagicOne, you had better be careful because some people might think you are one doughnut short of a dozen. :)

What game were you watching? WCJ had 17 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals, and 3 blocks. KCP contributed 15 points as well. The ball movement was very good as was the spacing. This all had the arena lathered into a frenzy. Stuff had the fans fired up. Order in the universe was restored with this Magic victory this evening. Yeah, we missed a couple of free throws. Yes, we got owned on the glass. But we won the game. And Coach Mose just touched on the free throws and rebounding in the post-game presser. They will work on it and get better. Right now, I am gonna celebrate this win with a nice juicy Big Mac from Burger King.

I'm sorry, MagicOne. It did not look good.

For me, it was like when I was able to watch the games won, maybe it looked good because I could see the game (visually), but when I had to read the Gamecast, the script gave me a whole different perspective about how, method, or approach to the way the Magic were playing

I dont like how we play

offense is only banchero iso's. we only have 2 serviceable players in the whole roster. the rest is awful

gary harris collects a paycheck for this?

they should train free throws every day, terrible shooting

I have to agree with you Argentina. I had been streaming games until tonight. I had to follow the game on ESPN gamecast. To my amazement, most of the action was from Paolo Banchero, followed by Franz (mostly from Banchero). It was like reading a chat transcript online. There was hardly any interaction from other members of the team--for example:  Banchero attempts a jumpshot...Banchero grabs a rebound...Banchero makes a jumpshot...Banchero grabs a rebound..........

Yeah, I saw Franz name once and a while, also, WCJ and KCP added something to the win. But I hardly saw any other players' names. This did not look good.

LOL @ that meme! Yes, I agree that up until this point Shaq and Penny are the best duo in Orlando Magic history. They turned the franchise into a winner and put Orlando on the map so to speak. Dwight and Jameer are a good pick for second. I was at that game 6 clincher in Orlando when they beat LeBron to advance to the Finals. The place was rocking. Literally couldn't hear the people sitting right next to me. With all of this said, if Franz and Paolo stay together and stay healthy, they could become the best duo in Magic history. Congrats to Dwight Howard on making the Hall of Fame! He's already said that he is going in representing the Magic.

That's a big "IF", MagicOne. Paolo and Franz have been putting up big numbers, but for the Magic to win a championship hinges upon having a surrounding cast of shooters and a very good point guard. When will that happen in this era, no one knows.

The Shaq and Penny 1995 NBA Champtionship finals duo were surrounded by a cast of very good shooters.

This will be the best Magic duo in their history. Surpassing Shaq and Penny. T-Mac and Grant Hill would have been up there too if Grant wasn't injured so often. Dwight and Rashard were pretty special as well. But P-5 and Boogie are on an entirely different level. Could be up there with the best duos in NBA history when all is said and done.

The Orlando Magic's most iconic and arguably best duo of all time was Shaquille O'Neal and Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway, who led the team to the NBA Finals in 1995.

Here's a more detailed look at their impact:
      • Dominant Duo: O'Neal, a dominant center, and Hardaway, a dynamic point guard, formed a formidable partnership that brought the Magic to prominence.

      • NBA Finals Run: The duo led the Magic to the NBA Finals in 1995, where they faced the Houston Rockets, ultimately losing in 4 games.

      • Franchise Success: They secured the franchise's first playoff appearance and run to the NBA Finals, establishing the Magic as a force in the league.

      • O'Neal's Departure: O'Neal's departure in the summer of 1996 marked the end of this powerhouse duo.

    • Other Notable Duos:
      • Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson: Howard, a dominant center, and Nelson, a skilled point guard, led the Magic to the NBA Finals in 2009, their first appearance since 1995.

      • Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner: Currently, Banchero and Wagner are setting the longest streak by a duo in Magic history with each scoring 20+ points in nine straight games.

Better ball movement = KCP looking more the player we paid for ?

no. I wouldn’t agree with that. KCP has been struggling making wide open shots all season. It’s not like he was forced to shoot off the dribble or something.

Orlandoholic, my take from Luke_FfS' comment about "KCP looking more the player we paid for", In my opinion he was referencing recent outstanding games KCP played, especially last night. You disputed and misinterpreted Luke's comment by mentioning how poorly he played going back to the beginning of the season.

Luke's compliment of KCP was based on last night's game, not the entire season.

lol I love that meme.  You’re right about Dwight and I’ll also include Shaq. They would love to shoot 72% from the free throw line Ike Paolo does! Both never shot even close to 60% for their career. Paolo even after last night is 76% in his last ten games.

Remember the 'Hack-a-Shaq? It was hilarious because in tight games, other teams had Shaq constantly walking to the free throw line every time he touched ball during the last few minutes of a game.

He was good but i got tired of watching Jameer penetrate to the rim, only to dribble back out again. Yes because the Magic were one of the first good volume 3 point shooting teams this worked for a bit. A kick out to JJ,Jason,Rashard etc and a 3 helped to keep our momentum going. His 3 point percentage was decent during our contending years with decent volume.

But he was small and slow and could not finish at the rim at all which made me bewildered sometimes. At the time i thought he was holding us back. However he was smart with the ball could shoot the 3 and had some decent assist numbers, nothing special for his prime years with how many minutes he played.

Basically he was a slightly better Tyus Jones who you all said wouldn't really have changed anything for us. Maybe your right because Jameer was best when he was kicking out or passing to guys who could hit the three ball. Our guys now can't do that.

You  talk about Jameer alot and his shortcomings. What I posted was not about Jameer. My point was about my not having seen a Magic team whose style of play has been 2 v 5 until now.

I sifted through various seasons to find the makeup of Magic teams in the past that did not use 2 v 5 style of play. Perhaps I should have posted only the link for the 2010-2011 season (leaving out the names of the players on the roster) and let anyone interested be the judge.

I literally saw four or five of the Houston players in the paint when Franz or Paulo got the ball in that situation.  The change in our energy level and offensive execution was really notable.

Of all my years of watching Magic basketball, I don't remember seeing that before.

I googled the 2010-2011 roster to refresh my memory. During that season, Stan Van Gundy was the coach. I don't remember 2 v 5 being played by the Magic. We had a good floor general in Jameer Nelson who could also score and we had other players who could spread the floor by making 3pt shots. See key players from that season below:

Dwight Howard, Marcin Gortat - center and rim protectors

Jameer Nelson, Jason Williams - point guards

Rashard Lewis, Ryan Anderson,  power forwards

Hedo Turkoglu, Quentin Richardson, Michael Pietrus - small forwards

JJ Redick, Jason Richardson - shooting guards
