The season didn’t go how we expected, but we’re healthy (finally) and it’s hard not to get excited for this one after what we just did to Charlotte. We match up well with Detroit,,, This thread is for all things with this matchup and predictions, and game dialogue unless someone makes individual game threads.
Here’s the schedule:

Hello Mods. This is a special time for us, the playoffs. But hopefully someone else on this message board will do the honor of creating game thread starters for each round. If you notice, every graphic/picture I posted has been deleted. Therefore, I won't be able to do game thread starters and include graphics.
Whoever designs the message board gave me warnings, going back to last year, that states:
- You have used 28.31 MB of your 500 kB attachment limit
- You have used all of the attachment space you are allowed. Manage Attachments to free up space.
I went to a thread where I had been designing/storing graphics over the years. I deleted several pages of stored graphics, but I guess I am still over the limit. Maybe the website where I upload my pictures to to be posted on the message board or perhaps my computer has been hijacked. :( *Sorry!*

I found a gift bag at Cracker Barrel that has a saying on it that pretty much sums things up about the roller coaster ride that we as Magic fans have been on. A weird, but humorous question some of us sometimes ask ourselves about our Magic fandom. I look at it from time to time and it makes me laugh. It makes my day. READ CAREFULLY (Just for fun, can anyone else figure out what the sign/words are saying?)

. . .If I can’t get on here and talk optimism after a 30 point walloping in a game we weren’t sure what version of our team was gonna show up, this might not be the place I thought it was.
Oh, now, now big guy. For me, this message board would be boring if there were not differences of opinions or challenges. Remember a little while back you told me I had a right to my opinion.
Being a member of this message board for years, I've learned to express my opinions/observations whether anyone else agrees with me or not.
We love you All Eyes On Me!

I still think the team has given up on Mosely, and he’s a mediocre to poor coach on the offensive side. He has helped to build a good defensive team, and that is important during this part of the year. I think the team was embarrassed at how they lost in Boston, and I think the Philly game was a bit of a wake up call. They seemed to come into this game with the defensive mindset that we needed but hadn’t seen in a while. I’m not sure how much, if any of that’s from Mosely. I think he’s taken this team as far as he is able, but I think we need a better offensive/2-way coach to get us up to the next level.
I agree 100% with what you said.
I have seen players coaching each other up on the court. Sometimes I would see a Magic player in a teammate's ear, pointing stuff out.

I’m so torn, cause this ain’t a team that has given up on their coach tonight. The defense was absolutely incredible and that’s Mose’s game. It all depends on how the first round goes. We play like this we can beat anybody
Stop it! All Eyes On Me I knew some of the fans would lean in that direction. :) Don't y'all think it was more of the players not wanting to be embarrassed or let the fans down more so than Mose drawing up this great game plan?
Edit: As the saying goes: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me".

Bane passes up too many open looks from 3. He has to take those.
And he is not getting those, what I call "magical layups. . .you can't stop it" moves. He seems hesitant. Of course I think other teams have watched his moves and are prepared to defend it.

Bridges plays dirty, gonna beat up on Bane while being tangled up on the floor.

Hey, wait. . .At the end of the 2019-2020 season the Magic made the playoffs with a 33-40 record?
I was looking up the 20-20 Magic roster and found this report:
"The 2019-2020 Orlando Magic roster, which competed in the NBA Bubble, featured key players Aaron Gordon, Nikola Vučević, Evan Fournier, Markelle Fultz, and Jonathan Isaac. The team finished the regular season with a 33-40 record, securing a 2020 playoff spot".

I’m over being the punching bag for the entire league in the mainstream media. Only thing we have left now is to go prove em wrong. It’s in our house, and while Charlotte is fun and explosive, they’re also young and full of guys who have never been in this situation before. We need to play our game and force them into it, can’t get roped into a shootout.
Watching P5, Suggs and Wendell extremely closely tonight. If we lose and they’re all 3 awful again, the narrative is fed even more that we need to make some more changes than just coaching in the offseason.Do these 3 sound familiar: Aaron Gordon, Nikola Vučević, Evan Fournier.
Gordon has done well with Denver, but I remember the narrative we are having about P5, Suggs, and Wendell is the same narrative we had about AG, Vuc, and Evan.
AG wanted to be traded and P5 probably wants out too.

You’re not wrong TMF, but I’m still willing to give Franz a pass. The reason is what I see here is a player who’s CLEARLY still hurt gutting it out for his team when he doesn’t need to. I’m proud to root for someone like Franz and his toughness. To me a lot of other players on the team can learn from him.
16 minutes ago, Soul Bro said:TMF, my assessment of Franz is he’s still nowhere near 100% yet physically (especially his conditioning).
Okay, I agree with the point that both of you make. When I opened my observation about Franz, I said I like him a lot, not because he's cute, but because he does help to win games or keep games that we lose close (score-wise). He IS one of my favorite players on the team. But at times (not all the time) he leaves SOME layups short of the basket. He is not the only player on the team that is good but need to "shore up" on some part of their game. You know that Bane is one of my favorite players, but in my opinion he needs to work on his defense. Sometimes he loses his player. /I'm just sayin

Good luck with Paolo or anyone who switches on guarding Tobias Harris. He plays a lot on the perimeter and can make those 3's. Remember, Harris and his cousin once played for the Magic.
