He's still very young, but its about time for him to step up and work hard at his game in the offseason. Hopefully, last night's heartbreaker provides the motivation. There's little chance of this happening. Isn't he suppose to make a movie this summer?

And don't forget about the number of times when Dwight's teammates threw the ball to him in the post, it got stripped mostly by Perkins and sometimes by a triple team by the Celtics. There were also times when the ball went right through Dwight's hands. Note: I'm not saying that the loss is solely Dwight's fault. But Dwight should shoulder some of the responsibility for the loss and not make excuses.

Rashard played extremely well in the first three quarters, but he went into panic mode in the last 6 minutes of the 4th. He turned the ball over at least 4 times. I don't know why when Shard begins his dribble, he holds the ball with his arm stretched out, begging someone to strip the ball. He has been doing that in the last 3 or more games of the playoffs.

    Dwight Post Game

quote: Originally posted by MrHopper:I just keep reading these posts about giving Dwight the ball more and blah blah blah. I agree when hes having a good game we should give him the ball. Tonight-he looked like he was playing at the local YMCA just throwing up hooks, and dribbling off peoples feet. Theres gotta be a reason why the 4 other guys on the court never go to Dwight during crunch time. I think its very easy for Dwight to say he needed the ball more becuase he didnt get it. But if he was 8-40 and we loose, then people say we were giving it to him to much. Once again, there has gotta be a reason why all 4 guys on the court dont go to Dwight during crunch time. So true. . .so true! Mr. Hopper, I agree with what you and others have said about these problems that Dwights having on the court.
  6. O-o-o-o-o!!! Dwight just said in the post-game conference that the coach (Stan) has to understand that when you have a group of guys on the court that got you the lead, you have to leave them in the game longer. He just said it again, that if you have on the floor whats working, then you have to stick with it. Dwight and Stan did agree on one thing. . .and that is, you don't try to run out the clock in the last 4 minutes of the game. You have to continue playing hard.
  7. quote: Originally posted by AcuWill:Sounds like the players don't listen to Stan in the end of the game according to his post game comments. Yeah, something is not right, because Stan said in the post-game press conference that he does not know why, in the last 4 minutes of the game, the team was walking the ball up the court. He said he repeatedly instructed them to push the ball and that there was too much time left in the game, but they did not listen and did what they wanted to do. It just feels like the players are not listening to Stan, but I'm not sure who is to blame for this. There is definitely something going on.

These are Magic fans, they are heartbroken. . .so let them vent!!!!
  10. Barkley said he WANTS TO SEE GAME 7! He also said that the Magic is the better team. 1)Barkley agrees that Allen's foot was on the 3 pt line. 2) He does not think the ball touched the rim.
  11. Hedo played well. Rashard had most of the turnovers in the last 5-mins. in the 4th quarter.
  12. quote: Originally posted by TheRevTy:TheRevTy's bold prediction: Mickeal Pietrus has an amazing, crowd-silencing dunk tonight. 14. Sorry, rtillaree, I was reading and preparing to post this information, but you beat me to it.
  15. According to Rotoworld, JJ will start tonight. Their source is the Orlando Sentinel. quote: May. 12 - 2:01 pm et Magic coach Stan Van Gundy has decided to stick with J.J. Redick as his starting shooting guard, with Courtney Lee coming off the bench. "This is the lineup we're going to go with," Van Gundy said. "You always go through ups and downs...We like the way J.J. has played early." The move also allows Lee to focus on shutting down Eddie House, who scored 31 points in Game 2 but was scoreless in Game 4. Source: Orlando Sentinel http://www.rotoworld.com/Content/home_NBA.aspx

It's akin to saying: "Your goose is cooked". . .the series is over. . .or will soon be over with the Magic being triumphant!

    Orlando starting 5

quote: MAGIC-CELTICS: FIVE KEYS FOR GAME 5 By Chris Sheridan ESPN.com 5). . .So one of the things to look for in Game 5 is the number of times Alston takes a bad shot rather than resetting the offense and running a set play that gets Lewis, Turkoglu or Howard the ball against a weaker, perhaps foul-stricken Celtics defender. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/...icsGame5setup-090512
  18. Yesterday, Drain-O questioned my use of "Boston Baked Bean" graphics in the opening of this thread. Well, today, an article in the Orlando Sentinel uses the term "beantown" in the title. quote: Wacky Celtics-Magic series heads to BEANTOWN for Game 5 tied 2-2 Matt Murschel | Weekly Planner May 11, 2009 The Orlando Magic head to Boston for Tuesday night's Game 5 against the Celtics. The series as of Sunday has been one of back and forth as both teams have rallied after a loss to win big. Orlando built a 28-point lead in Game 1 and won in Boston only to fail to show up in Game 2 where the Celtics won by 18. Friday's Game 3 saw the Magic jump out early and cruise to a 21-point victory.

Rafer is not playing any better than AJ. 1)If you notice though, the combo of AJ and JJ play better together in a starting lineup. However, AJ starts making mistakes when he plays too many minutes, especially in the 4th quarter. 2)Rafer has started over dribbling and as soon as he steps over halfcourt, he always dribble to the farside of the court near the sideline. A few times he has been trapped there. 3)Rafer was very good when he first joined the Magic, but recently he has been indecisive and stands above the freethrow line dribbling away the time and very few times has he been able to slash to the basket and make successful layups. Teams are applying more pressure to him to slow things down. When you take him, or AJ out of the game and go to a back court of Lee and JJ, and use Hedo at the point forward spot, the team is moving the ball more and getting better looks at the basket. They tried doing the same thing to Nelson this season, but he is better at penetrating and hitting the midrange jumper, so it wasn't effective. I agree. Specifically the bolded sentence.
