  1. I love the fact that Junkie hated Exum as a prospect for the Magic, posted everything negative about the guy that he could find, cited a lack of information on him as a reason to not take him, and now suggests the Magic should have taken Exum - because a couple of summer league games, that he probably didn't watch, was all the evidence he needed to be convinced that Exum could play - as potential evidence of a Hennigan mistake. He literally just admitted to being ready to criticize Hennigan for not drafting a player that he wouldn't have drafted either. If this isn't the definition of trolling then I don't know what is.

  2. Simmons has criticized almost every move that Hennigan has made at the time the deal occurred and then changed his mind after he saw how it worked on the court. The only exception to that was drafting Oladipo. I find Simmons entertaining and I genuinely like Lowe but I'm going to wait to see them on the court before I start grading the moves. I'm certainly not going to start spouting off retarded crap along the lines of "the jury is out on Hennigan". That is beyond ignorance.

  3. I think 30 to 35 wins is pretty realistic with an outside chance of doing a little better depending on the strength of the East and how quickly our rookies pick up the game. I don't think there are any free agents out there, besides the obvious guys, who are going to make a big difference beyond that. We aren't signing Lebron so we should hold on to that cap room for a couple of years from now when signing a max guy is possible. If our guys develop like most of think they can, big name free agents will be taking a very hard look at Orlando and its no state taxes. Why ruin our chances of signing Kevin Durant to sign Gordon Haywood? I'm just fine with only winning 35 games instead of 40.

  4. I called Otis' roster garbage years ago. He collected every garbage contract in the league. Henny needed to use essentially one of the top 3 in the league to get rid of a small amount of Otis trash. Gilbert became the zillion dollar oops that Devos stroked a check for. Baby and others we still pay for so despite getting rid of them it was no great move...just money. Now we have a missed Exum, trading a first for two slots up, Ben Gordon and now the near Otis move of Frye at 31 years old eating a great portion of what Henny vaporized the team for...cap space. I can understand modeling our lineup after the Spurs but unless Pop or Duncan show up here we arent the Spurs. The Spurs NEEDED to scout late round talent for value because they never got a shot high in the draft. The Magic on the other hand are collecting late first talent by the buckets. Ive got the feeling we are starting to head in the wrong direction again. All I know is a 25 win season wont fill the arena. Frye was a bonehead move. Period. Everyone can try to rationalize it but in the end you just dont give a 31 year old average player a four year deal. Sorry.

The knowledge that you exist makes me want to punch myself in the face.

  5. counting stats are the devil

last 4 years his 3 point shooting is extremely good on a high attempt rate, offensive rating the last 4 years.....120,106,111,110

yes it's an overpay but the magic have to overpay to get guys right now

now if we wanna talk defense.....vucci and frye is BRUTAL together

Fortunately the perimeter defense around them should be stellar.

  6. I would like to know more details about the deal before I determine if it was a poor deal or not. For all we know there is a team option for the 4th year or it may be front loaded. Someone mentioned it in the other thread that Ryan Anderson had a similar deal for a little bit more money. I don't remember hearing a lot of criticism on that deal throughout the league and Anderson is a comparable player. Shooting is a premium in today's league and this roster needs a lot of shooting. Frye does help with that considerably.

  7. can't wait to hear how gordons shooting is fixable again, just brutal

if he doesn't develop a post game he is going to be a role player and nothing more

Because concluding that an 18 year old kid won't be able to improve his shooting after 2 summer league games is way more reasonable.

  8. they already have ok bigs.

They lost Hawes in free agency, Varejao will only be able to play 45 games if he's lucky, Tristan Thompson sucks, and Anthony Bennett is fat and sucks. I suppose Zeller and Bennett shouldn't be written off yet but I'm not sure the Cavs are ready to compete for a championship with those big men.

  9. I still just don't believe he'd go back to Cleveland. Kyrie and LeBron would be dirty together though.

And throw Wiggins in the mix. They instantly become one of the best perimeter defensive teams in the league. Plus, Wiggins biggest weakness at this point is his inability to create his own shot off the dribble. He won't have to worry about that if he's playing off of Lebron and Irving creating. All the Cavs would need to do is acquire a couple of competent big men and they are going to be very good.

  10. Ill admit my voice was incredibly negative since Otis outbid himself by 40 million bucks but I actually voted to give Henny time. Ive complimented him many times but at some point youve got to move into positive territory. At this point, Im not sure Im seeing anything positive in Orlando other than a guy collecting decent small to medium pieces. What happened to Henny saying this team would not be down long and we were NOT going into a prolonged rebuild? Ill give the guy credit for unearthing some decent players but for god sakes there are no pats on the back when youre essentially the worst team in the league. I would hope with all my Magic heart this team gels and gets 30-35 wins this year but I dont see it. Believe it or not its OK to have varied opinions...take a deep breath and consider other ideas...have an open mind. Im sure it was shocking to some when someone absolutely thought Otis was crashing our team repeatedly...but guess what HE WAS!

You of all people should be able to acknowledge the dumpster fire that was the roster that Hennigan inherited. It takes a couple of seasons to turn that kind of mess around; particularly when rebuilding with young players. Hennigan didn't even have a high draft pick to work with the first year he took over.

  11. Are you familiar with this website?

    http://www.basketbal...prob.html?redir

They show the probability of a player being voted into the hall of fame. Marion's probability is 26.53%, one spot above.......Steve Francis at 26.46%.

Shawn Marion was nothing more than a good role player who had the good fortune of playing in Mike D'Antoni's stat padding system with some good point guards in Jason Kidd, Stephon Marbury, and Steve Nash. His stats dropped considerably once he left Phoenix.

Ignoring for a second that the link you provided doesn't actually prove anything, there are plenty of players that most people would consider star players that will never sniff the hall of fame.
